How RICH Is Maud Robinson? VERY!
Damn, It's Nice to Be Stinking Rich When My 'Subjects' Don't Know!
Maud Robinson has carefully crafted an "of the people" political persona. Nothing flashy. Seemingly just average with a modest house, etc. Just like all of us, eh?
Not so fast. Maud Robinson is a multi-millionaire AT A BARE MINIMUM. She appears to have far and away more wealth by a country mile over any other Town Council member or Board member.
So for all these years, while she has practiced class warfare, railed against so-called developers' greed and used the financial success of others against them at every chance she could, it turns out that Maud is a big-time hypocrite when it comes to wealth.
Review Maud Robinson's Stock & Bond Holdings (PDF).
1. Maud has 43 investments valued at between $10,000 and $50,000 each.
2. Maud has 22 investments valued at over $50,000 each.
At a bare minimum, excluding her RS-10 zoned 30,000+ sq. ft. property (worth over $1M), Robinson has, if assuming the LOWEST range of security values (which is highly unlikely), $1.5M in stocks and bonds alone.
It is easy to see Maud Robinson with a net worth of $5 Million+.

Wow! Looks like Maud owns stocks in three banks (Bank of America, Wachovia, and Citigroup) that we know of. Is that why we have banks-o-plenty in Vienna?

I can't count how many times at a Town Council meeting where she decried someone as 'rich' or attempted to make a builder out to be 'greedy'...all the while she was the one with the super fat piggy bank.

The real reason we need so many banks in Vienna is to hold all of Maud's money!

I think it necessary to point out the facts and state why Maud's wealth is an important issue. Maud Robinson states that she is the voice of the average older/retired person who lives in Vienna, pays taxes in Vienna and perhaps would like to stay in Vienna.
Now, interestingly, she has NOT supported any, and I DO MEAN ANY, decision that will make it easier for older citizens to live in Vienna. I challenge anyone to tell me ONE. Why is this important? Since she obviously doesn't have to worry about the real issues that ordinary citizens have such as sky-rocketing property taxes, and the like, she doesn't care when concerned voters challenge her "Maud's way or the highway" approach that she has on everything in Vienna.
Several hard working and intelligent people have come forward and tried to explain the benefits of changing the zoning along Maple Avenue, the least of which would allow more people to stay and live in Vienna, rather than be forced to leave because of high taxes.
Maud has stated that this is bad for Vienna. The issues of money DO NOT apply to Maud. She hasn't a worry in the world with respect to taxes or whether or not she can afford something or not. She's is NOT on anyone's side except her own side.
I for one can see that her motives are very greedy. She only cares about what is going to make her look as if she is the great savior of Vienna. In fact, she has NO clue as to where Vienna is headed. She needs to be replaced. She is a relic and bad for Vienna. I say give her the boot. Vienna deserves better than this.

Good point. For years, very smart people on both sides of the aisle have spoken to the idea of nice low-rise condos in downtown Vienna. Maud just yells back "NO!" without ever offering any explanation. Now, when seeing how much money she has, it is safe to say that she is just arrogant and out of touch.

I have heard through the grape vine that Maud is very unhappy about this site and perhaps this post in particular. Maud the shoe is on the other foot so to speak. And now, you of all people are crying foul?
Everyone knows that one of Maud Robinson's favorite tactics is to "reveal" how much money she thinks everyone makes and that anything presented before the Council is ONLY about accumulating more and more wealth. In her eyes no project could never have anything to do with just plain and simple good government.
But now you are just upset that the real facts are emerging. People are beginning to see a person who claims to be on their side, but in all actuality the only side you are on is your own side.

Sour grapes, Maud? Embrace your sweet remedy for silence is now the enemy... refute the facts presented here. Explain away any misperceptions, if you can. If Town government is so squeaky clean and selfless, it should be easy for you and yours to post testament. But be careful, this medium is not one-way and manicured like the Town newsletter, Council minutes, and local newsprint. It is more like WikiVienna... everybody gets to participate and any misinformation will be quickly corrected.
