Stupid Is, Stupid Does

Are Some People in Vienna Really
That Dumb?
Most people probably saw the humor here. Perhaps even some thought it was an exaggeration. It was NO exaggeration as this recent forum post from a supporter of the Maud machine reveals:
"Since [Susan] Stich and [Blair] Jenkins were such ardent advocates of form based zoning, we can only surmise that it is something that will be BAD for the town and a tool for permitting the detrimental development that [various Vienna residents] want to carry out throughout all of the neighborhoods where their vast land holding [sic] lie."
As we thought about this post, two choices came to mind: Either this person is pretending to be an idiot to SCARE less than learned acolytes or the author of this post is plain stupid himself. For those not familiar with the term form-based zoning, read:
Tax records reveal that no current Council members or their challengers from this past election were owners of commercial land in Vienna. Form-based zoning would apply to commercial only.

Comments
Would form based coding help rid Vienna of all the banks, gas stations and nail salons? And would it enable Vienna to then have some vibrant and new stores? Yuck! Who would want that.

I was at the Walk on the Hill and heard there was a house on Windover where oil was recently discovered. I asked the owners and they said oil drilling will start soon and for neighbors not to worry. Even though it is tall, the rig is quiet and will only operate during daylight hours. That was a relief to me!

"Bad for the Town" is your cry. What a hypocrite. What's bad for the Town is fighting for the corrupt historic district and fooling people who pay taxes into thinking this a fight that MUST be fought! Get a clue! I mean, open your eyes. Vienna's true historicity has been given a proverbial black eye over this, yet Maud, Lovelace, and Cole will simply lie to you and tell you we NEED this district at any cost. I challenge any Council person to show any documented and or inventoried structure in the Historic District. Mission Impossible!

Yes, let's fight about the Historic District while Maple Ave. looks like a 1940s Mill Town in some areas. This has become just what Boss Maud wants-divide and conquer! She wins and Vienna loses. This Town is becoming a sitcom in many ways. Tsk, tsk to all of you who spreading these weird rumors. Doesn't everybody really want some nicer places on Maple Ave.?
