Maud's Private 1-Acre Parking Lot
Look at this picture.
With all of the problems Vienna has with parking crunches, and given the huge increase in property values in Vienna that makes 1 acre of land worth far more than a million dollars, why would the owners of this parking lot, a lot that is ALWAYS empty, be willing to sit still and do nothing with their property for 30+ years?
Mrs. Robinson you live next door, got an answer? Are you penalizing this property owner for your own selfish reasons? This property is more than twice the size of the upcoming Town Green! Is this a good use of land? An empty asphalt 1-acre lot?

Maud Likes Asphalt Everywhere. We Don't.

Speak for yourself. I happen to like asphalt. I really like the polycylic aromatic hydrocarbons such as anthracene, acridine, pyrene, chrysene and phenanthrene, the list goes on and on... Yes, these compounds are known carcinogens, but what the heck, as long as you don't live near a large asphalt farm or parking lot, you should be okay. BTW, how much of the Town is covered with this stuff?

We can call this the "Town Black" to go along with the "Town Green". Colors sure are popular in Vienna!

I've wondered this myself, often..and personally concluded that it's lack of use is influenced by the "influential" neighbor. (I could be wrong though)
I thought that a council member speaks for the citizens interests and not for their individual interests...I could be wrong there also.
