Sonya Marsden is my cousin. We grew up in different parts of the country and for our younger years only saw each other on holidays. Eventually all us kids grew up and decided that we really cared for each other and found excuses to make trips to see each other. The events that took Dave Marsden's life are one of those things that none of us ever wants to think about, it always happens to someone else... right? A young wife is waiting at home with her little girl wondering why her husband isn't home yet. Well this time it happened to one of the most well brought up, most educated, not to mention just all around sweetest people in the country. She's worked overseas, and has worked for the federal government for years. I really can't believe that a memorial bike rack is too much to ask in a local park. If it comes down to it, her family up north will pay for it, just so she can see it everyday and know that we love her. Please e-mail me back and let me know why this was turned down!

It was turned down because one of the Town Council members, Maud Robinson, is a mean and nasty old lady who could care less about anything except her legacy - which is the park where Dave was killed. It is very sad. Many Vienna residents want this memorial, but we have no power to over rule this Maud character on Vienna Town Council.
