30-Year-Old Chad Bishop Slams 85-Year-Old Maud Robinson Over Historic District Comments (4)

Firing Squad Next for Chad?

Chad Bishop was recently appointed to the Windover Heights Board of Review to fill the slot formerly filled by Steve Bukont. The following are comments made by Chad Bishop and his wife Christie Bishop. Maud is not going to be happy with one of her board members speaking the truth!

First, Christie Bishop declared:

“He [Husband Chad] is not entirely sure why it [historic district] exists if it didn’t do everything it was supposed to do when it was formed in terms of having places…declared historic and protected and all that. He knows he is sitting on a political board, but he is not a very political person.”

Chad Bishop countered his wife in a separate conversation declaring:

"For me its not political, it's trying to be involved in the community."

Bishop was asked about the pending litigation regarding the historic district:

"I don't know much about that unfortunately."

Bishop offered his view on the Windover Heights Historic District Review Board next:

"After reading through the code I have some concerns of my own in regards to how the Board is handled. And even the validity of the Board."

Bishop added:

"Maybe if there are some inconsistencies on the Board there is a way to fix it being on the Board."

Bishop added:

"If people do feel there are injustices within the Board or the Board itself is an injustice...I might be able to work with the Town to try to either fix those injustices or eliminate the Board completely...I do think there are inconsistencies...I am trying to fix things by being there [on the Board]."

When pressed about why he would be on this Board when he and his wife know there are problems, Bishop again confirms:

"Both of us think there are issues."

Asked about the litigation, Chad Bishop states:

"I was curious if I could find out what that [the litigation] was [from the Town]. I haven’t had any response in regards to that yet. I would assume they want to keep that under wraps cause you don’t want to usually disclose anything when litigation is involved. Which is unfortunate cause I am sitting on the Board and if that’s the case I should be disclosed as to what’s going on."

Bishop then adds thoughts about historic "significance" in Vienna:

"What is considered historic? I have looked around and I haven’t seen anything in any Virginia register that says we have any buildings in the Town of Vienna that are historic."

He then questioned the historic significance of the Freeman House and the original Library. Bishop then talks about the lack of specifics he has encountered on the Board so far:

"When I asked for a list of historic sites or buildings or structures, they didn't have that list [laughs]."

In talking about the one of the historic district lawsuits pending regarding a fence, Bishop states:

“The way that I read the code…I would vote for putting up the fence.”

Chad concluded with:

"My concern is that if we don't have anything that is historic, how do I rule on anything? Do you follow what I am saying? I want to know exactly what we need to rule on cause I don't. I am still in the discovery stage at this point."

While we appreciate Bishop's candor, the fact that he refuses to resign from this corrupt Board leaves his ethics open to severe criticism.

How Can Arthur 'Chad' Bishop Serve as a Youth Minister While Serving on the Scam Historic Review Board? Comments (5)

Chad Bishop is the new member of the Windover Heights Historic Review Board (323 Nutley Street, NW). He also happens to serve as a youth minister at O.L.G.C. Church. This is a big time conflict. How can anyone supposedly of faith, with all of the personal hatred that Maud Robinson has engineered, allow themselves in one breath to "teach" children values, but then in their adult life chase political power to the injury of their neighbors? Just because you hold yourself out as religious doesn't mean you have "cover" to hurt others Mr. Bishop. We hope the youth you guide contact us so we can fill them in on your new less than religious political ambitions.

And for those seeking more concrete proof of the scam? Here is Bishop's application (PDF). Sure sounds like a candidate well versed in historic architecture...not. Bishop is a computer programmer. The fact that his background lists nothing remotely associated with historic anything further exemplifies the scam of Vienna historic politics.

What does Bishop have to say?

His and his wife's comments coming soon.

Ethical Bottom of the 'Red' Pit: Laine Hyde and Paul Layer Comments (7)

Only Maud's Lips Can Be Red in Vienna!

From the Commercial Board of Architectural Review Minutes of the Town of Vienna, Virginia on 06/15/2006 comes this excerpt all about the color "red":

Request for approval of signage for Bank of America located at 235 Maple Avenue, W...Chairwoman Damon asked if the sign has been installed. Mr. Wilcox answered yes. Chairwoman Damon stated concern that the sign has so much red on it. She stated that the previous signs that were approved were white and blue. To have such a mass of red on a brick building appears to be garish and not in keeping with the rest of the sign design for the building. Ms. Laine Hyde stated her disappointment that the sign is already in place. She noted that it puts the Board in a difficult position when reviewing an application. She stated her agreement with Chairwoman Damon’s statements. If the sign had come before the Board before it was installed then they would have requested to tone down or modify the red in some way. Ms. Brehony stated her agreement with the previous testimony. She stated that the sign is too bright. Mr. Layer asked if the ATM sign is all illuminated. Mr. Wilcox answered no. Mr. Layer asked if the applicant has an alternate design. Mr. Wilcox answered that he was not certain. Additional discussion followed regarding alternate options. It was determined that Mr. Wilcox would check with the applicant as to alternate options. There being no further questions the item was deferred. Ms. Hyde made a motion that the request for approval of signage for Bank of America located at 235 Maple Avenue, W. be deferred until such a time that the applicant can present alternate color options to the Board.

The people of the Town of Vienna should be proud of Hyde's and Layer's ethical foundation. Why criticize their ethics? They both know the law does not allow them to stop the use of the color red, but since the law is extremely vague they can get away with inane discussions like the one above. Do you think it is coincidence that Hyde and Layer both live in the Windover Heights Historic District and both support it?

Deborah Brehony and Rebecca Hartley resigned from the Commercial Board of Architectural Review, but Laine Hyde and Paul Layer stayed. They stayed because they are political cronies of the highest order. They are willing to sell their soul to make Maud happy.

It is a great example of Mao Maud's unexplained aversion to the color red that we mentioned last week.

Phony Brochure Available on Phony Historic Sites Comments (5)

From the Town Newsletter:

Historic Vienna, Inc., the town’s non-profit organization for historic preservation and restoration, has published a brochure on Vienna’s register of historic structures, sites and places (PDF). The brochure is available free of charge at Town Hall, the Vienna Community Center, Patrick Henry Library, and the Freeman House. The historic register was created in 1988 to encourage recognition of and interest in Vienna’s historic sites. For more information, call Historic Vienna at 703-938-5187 or email hviadmin@ci.vienna.va.us.

Guess how you get on this list? There are no rules! Guess how many structures or places on this list have been documented? None! And don't forget - participation on this list is entirely voluntary. If you want to pretend that your house is historic, simply send Laine a letter and she will then meet in closed session at the Freeman House to determine if you can be part of their club.

There must be a review board that looks at house or building changes? No, there is not. Consider:

"Mayor Robinson stated an additional proposed amendment had been drafted and incorporated to alleviate fears which had been expressed during the prior meeting that the proposed ordinance might by implication constitute an official designation under the zoning code and thereby trigger the establishment of an historic district around the property. He state the additional language was added to Section 25-2, Intent, relative to this issue. Mayor Robinson stated that he proposed to add additional language to the last paragraph of Section 25-2 as a last sentence, to read: "Listing of any historic structure, site or place in the Register as provided for in this Chapter shall not constitute official designation as defined and used in Article 26 of Chapter 18, of the Code of Vienna."

So you are saying this is entirely voluntary and in no way protects or preserves anything? Yes, that is true. Additionally, nothing on this list is on any State or Federal Historical Register. Why was this phony list created in 1988 then? The Town (read: Maud) needed "something" to prop up the Windover Heights Historic District since nothing was ever documented. They came up with this idiotic voluntary "register" just like they came up with the signs all over Vienna that point to a mythical "Historic Church Street".

How bad is the fraud? In the brochure "#4 Moorefield House" refers to a house no longer in existence. The brochure states:

The house fell into disrepair in the late 1900s and despite many efforts to save the structure it was dismantled in 2005. It was containerized and is awaiting a new location.

That is a lie and we have the pictures to prove it. Don't you like the use of the word "containerize"? More on the lie.

Can anyone explain to us why Laine Hyde and the rest of the nuts associating with this tax payer funded con are not historic frauds? Or maybe we should join in with the "big historic pretend"? Whether it’s true or not misses the point, right?

Town Newsletter Outlines The Incompetence Comments (3)

Every month the Vienna Town Newsletter has a feature called "This Month in History". Consider these two entries from the December 2006 issue outlining Vienna's past achievements:

DECEMBER 1976 - With the opening of the new Post Office came traffic prob- lems at Lawyers Road and Church Street. An inadequate number of parking spaces and narrow entrances have complicated the flow of traffic for frustrated postal patrons. The current customer parking lot has only 15 spaces for a facility that serves an area of 22.44 square miles with an estimated population of approximately 58,000 people. The Town has suggested several solutions to ease the situation, including providing an additional exit route to the rear of the Post Office.
DECEMBER 1966 - As many regular listeners of WEEL radio already know, a twice-weekly news program covering Town government activities has in recent weeks been broadcast from various points in the Vienna business area. It is an informal interview with members of the Town staff each Tuesday and Thursday, and questions from Vienna residents about their Town government are invited.

In 1976 we knew there were problems with the Post Office. What did Vienna do in the next 30 years? Nothing. In 1966 we had some form of open government with broadcasts. Today after 40 years of "progress" what do we have? Secret and closed government that aims to ban video. Long live Boss Maud Robinson!

Stop 22180 Bank Robberies Before Someone Is Killed Comments (2)

Why Does Mao Robinson Hate the Color Red? Comments (2)

Why does Mao Robinson hate the color red? We are not sure, but we think we may have figured it out.

First, it is a matter of fact that the Vienna Commercial Board of Architecture Review routinely turns down buildings or signs that are "red" in color. No joke, happens all the time. Does Vienna have a code that prevents the color red? No, but it does have a vague law that says their review Board:

"Examines and approves plans for commercial buildings, signs and landscaping to ensure that new construction is not bizarre or garish and is harmonious and compatible with existing buildings."

With that bit of legal prose, Maud is able to keep "red" out of Vienna. But why does she actually use the government to censor a color from Vienna? It has been staring at us for months! Tom Seeman and his web site TheRedHunter.com have laid the answer out in plain view!

Just like Tom Seeman (and his mother Jane the Mayor), Maud is also fighting the red communists. If you are fighting communists, the last thing you want is to have your Town of Vienna colored red! Think we jest? We could not make this up. From Tom Seeman's web site:

"...I remember the exact moment that I finished the book ["1984" by George Orwell]. Before this event, politics, and especially the Cold War struggle against the Soviet Union, were abstractions. No more. "The Soviet Union must be destroyed" went through my mind again and again. I was never taken in by those leftists who insist on seeing Orwell's work as an attack on the west, and in particular the United States. To be sure, we can see "Orwellian" speech in our daily lives, and we sometimes say that "Big Brother" is doing this or that in our country. But there was never any doubt in my mind that Orwell's masterpiece was primarily an attack on the totalitarian mind-control ideologies of his day; Soviet communism and German Nazism. We had defeated the latter, but the former remained a significant threat. This began a life-long study of the world around me. Over the past twenty-five or so years I have read dozens if not hundreds of books on a variety of subjects. Initially my primary reading centered around military history and totalitarian ideologies, and indeed books on these subjects still make up the majority of my library. It always seemed natural for me to be a political conservative. My parents were Republicans, and not being a rebellious type it was natural for me to follow in their footsteps. This, coupled with my anti-Soviet crusade, led me to the right. I suppose if I had been born twenty years earlier the chances of my going to either party were about equal. Up until the late '60s the Democrats were as anti-Soviet as the Republicans. The sea change that occurred at the end of the Vietnam war squelched any chance of my becoming a Democrat. My beliefs have not changed that much over the years. If anything, perhaps I have become more libertarian. As I have grown more as a Christian, I have been less impressed by the "religious right"; something of a paradox, perhaps. I then grew up as a dedicated Cold Warrior. If you check out my personal blog, you'll see that it's got a Cold War name. The story there is simple; when thinking of a title, I started looking at my book collection for inspiration. I came across William F Buckley's The Redhunter. This book tells the story of Senator Joe McCarthy in novel form. Buckley's theme is that while McCarthy and his minon Roy Cohn were scoundrels, the cause of anti-communism is noble and just. It is a theme with which I agree wholeheartedly. I therefore chose it as the title of my blog."

That diatribe from nutbag Tom Seeman is what dinner table conversation at the Mayor's house sounds like. It is seriously time for the far right wing sisters Jane Seeman and Maud Robinson to go. Yes, they may walk around and pretend to be moderate Democrats, but they both supported George Allen. Clearly the behind the scenes views of Tom "The Red Hunter" Seeman show how crazy these people are. Vienna is not a majority "far right wing Communist fighting lost in a different era" community. So why then do we have these political morons leading us?

Laine Hyde and Historic Vienna, Inc. Welcome All Vienna Citizens! Comments (0)

Garden Club Member Laine Hyde Puppet

From the Town Historic Vienna Inc. site run by Laine Hyde:

The Church Street Stroll is scheduled for Monday, November 27 from 6 until 9PM where Church Street will be closed down to all but Pedestrian traffic who can enjoy an evening of stress free shopping while enjoying caroling, a visit from Santa, watching live entertainment, toastng marshmallows etc. The Freeman Store will be open for business and our storekeepers will be awaiting you with a cheery smile and a hello.

If anyone can step forward with evidence of Laine Hyde's "cheery smile" there will be a reward! So far this is the closest we have! Maybe they mean Maud here? No way! That smile would terrify small children!

Why the sarcasm from us? Consider this excerpt from the Town web site run by Laine Hyde:

What Is Historic Vienna, Inc.? Historic Vienna, Inc. (HVI), established by the Vienna Town Council on April 5, 1976, is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to: Preserving and promoting Vienna’s heritage through the identification, preservation, and interpretation of historically significant places, events, and persons. Educating the public through permanent and revolving exhibits, outreach programs, speical events and publications. Enhancing a spirit of community through an awareness of Vienna’s past.

What Does HVI Do? Identifies, preserves, and operates sites and structures of historical significance, such as The Freeman House and the Original Library. Acquires and exhibits artifacts of historical interest. Conducts educational presentations and tours for students and civic groups. Maintains and operates the Freeman Store offering items for sale: Vienna and Virginia souvenirs, arts and crafts, books and penny candy. Coordinates annual events, such as ‘Walk On The Hill”, antique appraisals and Santa Claus at Christmas time. Serves as a recipient of gifts, legacies, and bequests for on-going preservation and historic activities.

Government sanctioned lies are never a good thing. The two excerpts above are clearly filled with flat out lies. Hyde should be forced to document her statements.

Vienna's Historic District is a Metaphor for Corruption Comments (1)

People ask, "What is the problem with the historic district, there must be rules?" There are none. Here is the Town Code:

In its review of any application for a Certificate of Appropriateness, the Windover Heights Board of Review, or the Council, on appeal, shall consider the following aspects of a building, accessory building, structure, fence or sign.

1. Exterior architectural features, including all signs, which are subject to public view at any time of the year from a public street, way or place.
2. General design and arrangement.
3. Texture and material.
4. The relation to similar features of buildings, accessory buildings, structures, fences or signs in the immediate surroundings.
5. Harmony or incongruity with the old and historic aspect of the surroundings.
6. The extent to which historic places and areas of historic interest in the District will be preserved or protected.
7. Special public value because of architectural and other features which relate to the cultural and artistic heritage of the Town of Vienna.

That's it. No rules on what the materials should be. Nothing on what constitutes style. Nothing on color. No details as to what the historic places are. What are the 'areas of historic interest'? Unknown. The Town refuses to define the law. What are the architectural features that hold public value? What is the artistic heritage? Texture and material means what? All of this ambiguity allows Board members to make up the rules on the fly to reward buddies and punish enemies. On top of that, imagine trying to clarify these questions with the Chairman of the Review Board Steve Bukont only to be met with a four letter Freddy.

Perhaps you find this all cute and inconsequential? Well, if that is your view, be ready for this web site to skewer corrupt politicians like Laurie Cole every step of the way - until they change their ways.

Town Green HUD Audio Comments (2)

Audio (MP3) from November 6, 2006 Town Council meeting where Maud expresses her HUD concerns. For good measure, beyond Robinson's fear of "entanglements" with HUD, she is also concerned that she might have to hire certain people due to HUD regulations.

No Storm Water Management Comments (3)

While Vienna will have its lovely new Town Green, storm water management is a disaster in Vienna. Below are four pictures from today for one house in Vienna, but there were probably hundreds more flooded. Nice job Maud! Put your HUD money to parks while Vienna floods.

Maud Robinson: "Just Say No!" Comments (6)

Here are some concrete public works projects that Maud Robinson has either screwed up or stopped cold turkey. This was all done with her famous "Just Say No" political philosophy:

1. Maud stopped the funding of a new Post Office in Vienna at the same location.

2. Maud turned away County money that would have taken the Vienna Library out of the Stone Age.

3. Maud is responsible for all of the new banks popping up on every square inch of Vienna real estate.

4. Maud makes sure that power lines on Maple Avenue do not go underground.

5. Maud is responsible for absolutely no public parking garages in Vienna.

6. Maud blocked the bypass around down town Vienna.

Why does Robinson not work on these issues? She is TOO busy with the REAL important stuff as evidenced from this excerpt from the last Town Council work session (from Sun Gazette paper):

Council member Maud Robinson said portable containers are basically boxes that lack shingled roofs and other features that make sheds attractive by comparison. “They don't have the aesthetics of a shed,” she said. “There are no architectural elements. A POD is a POD is a POD. There's no visual attractiveness to them.”

Ladies and gentlemen, that is Maud Robinson's brain hard at work! Do we laugh or cry?

Bottom line: if you like political leaders who take money away from struggling low income families to plant flowers or if you like leaders who take charge to fight the supposed POD problem, Robinson is your woman.

Time for HUD Investigation of Maud Robinson Comments (6)

It has come to our attention that HUD is investigating Maud Robinson for her comments here. Why? Consider this screen shot from the HUD web site:

We believe Robinson's remarks are illegal. She is intimidating and harassing certain people away from Vienna. It may just be her down fall.

Maud Robinson Wants the HUD Money, Just NO Minorities! Comments (9)

From this week's Sun Gazette about Maud's big earmark:

Council members accepted a $198,000 economic-development-initiative grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which will be applied toward the new Vienna Town Green. The grant, obtained by U.S. Rep. Thomas Davis (R-11th), will be spent on landscaping work toward the end of the project, said Cathy Salgado, Vienna parks and recreation director. Council member Maud Robinson received assurances from Town Attorney Steven Briglia that accepting the grant would not oblige the town to participate in any of that federal agency's other programs. “You know I always get a little edgy when I hear the word ‘HUD' mentioned,” she said.

HUD causes her to be edgy? What is HUD's mission? From their web site:

HUD's mission is to increase homeownership, support community development and increase access to affordable housing free from discrimination. To fulfill this mission, HUD will embrace high standards of ethics, management and accountability and forge new partnerships--particularly with faith-based and community organizations--that leverage resources and improve HUD's ability to be effective on the community level.

Isn't this special? Maud gets a big piece of pork from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for her Town Green, but then in the next breath clearly implies she wants no strings attached to her early Christmas present. Said another way, "No Diversity, No Affirmative Action...Therefore No blacks."

Who else could get away with this without being called a racist? When does Vienna stop making excuses for Robinson? These kinds of statements (and actions) make us all look like intolerant red necks. How much more of her foot can she cram in her mouth?

Maud is this the kind of sign you want in Vienna?

Most politicians in Robinson's position would have kept their pie hole shut and taken the pork. Robinson took the money, but only after sinking down low. She is one of a kind.

Raised Median on Maple Avenue Between Lawyers and Nutley: Why Lie About This? Comments (4)

Last week the Sun Gazette's Brian Trompeter reported:

Moved forward with planning for Phase 4 of the Maple Avenue Enhancement Project, which will improve that road between Lawyers Road and Nutley Street. Improvements on the previous three phases have included undergrounded utilities, brick sidewalks, paver crosswalks and park benches. Because only the end areas of this stretch of road have signalized crossing areas for pedestrians, town officials are considering a raised median down much of what is now the center turning lane. Such a median would provide a safe area for walkers, but remove some left-hand-turn options, officials said.

This news sounded "odd" so we started a freedom of investigation to find out how this "proposal" started. Before we could report on it another resident addressed the issue at an unrelated post. That resident was responding to the Trompeter reporting:

Now they want to install raised planter medians in place of the center turning lane on Maple from Lawyers to Nutley... BEFORE they decide how that section of the commercial corridor might be redeveloped. Not only will this clutter an already impossibly congested roadway, but any such median installation will likely get rip out to allow turning access to future developments. Nevermind that losing ANY of the useable roadway will only worsen the driver's experience in Town.

What have we found out about this new raised median proposal? The Town Information Officer Marie Kisner informed us:

According to Cathy Salgado, who is managing the Maple Ave. project, there is no such proposal, therefore no records exist.

We asked the Town if they saw this reporting. They responded:

Yes, Cathy did too and will be in contact with Brian concerning a correction.

Now most people would say. "Why don't you listen to the tape of the meeting and find out what proposal was offered and who said it?"

In Vienna it doesn't work that way. This was a work session. There is no recording of the meeting. No audio, nothing. The Town has plausible deniability to say, "What proposal?" even though it is clear that someone proposed something about a raised median in the middle of Maple Avenue. What they are really doing is calling reporter Brian Trompeter a liar.

Some will argue this is a fine point. We say BS. We say this is systemic corruption. It happend last year when this group wanted to keep secret the Council member who proposed banning video. They hid behind the notion that there was no record even though Brian Trompeter was there and reported on it. Tropeter to this day has refused to reveal who on Council proposed to ban video.

Local Bank Now Locks Doors During Business Hours for First Time in Vienna History Comments (2)

For the first time in the history of Vienna a bank now locks its doors during business hours. If you want to gain entry into The Business Bank next to Whole Foods you must be buzzed in. The Business Bank are good people and they are only trying to protect themselves and their clients, but have we not just crossed a line?

ACLU backers will say that this creates an illegal "profiling system". Clients of the bank have already expressed satisfaction in the bank's efforts to solve a clear problem.

So what are Vienna's political leaders doing to stop bank robberies? Not much. They just pushed our under funded Police Department back into cramped quarters at Town Hall with no relief in sight. We presume some will argue that Maud and Jane are not responsible. Then who is?

Charles Brewer's Plan to Effectively Marginalize Women Voters; His Response Comments (3)

Over the weekend we posted comment about Chuck Brewer's plan to give each household in the Malcolm Windover Heights Civic Association a single vote. Chuck, who is an avid reader of this site, responded to our criticism by sending out an email (with a "screen shot" of our post) to every member of the Civic Association. He also said this:

Yesterday, we sent a notice about: 1. Proposed amendments to the Association By-Laws 2. A membership meeting, Nov. 16, 2006, 7:30PM, Vienna Community Center to discuss & vote on these amendments. As you can see from the screenshot below, at least one person has read the proposed amendments. The MWHCA_ByLawsNov06Explained.pdf contains explanations of why the Executive Board is proposing the various amendments. I hope you will take the time to read them, and then plan on attending the Nov. 16 meeting. Whether you agree with any or all, please consider sharing your opinion with us at the meeting. These amendments will be voted upon at the meeting, and any amendment lacking a majority vote will obviously not go into place. --Charles Brewer

Isn't amazing how fast our web criticism can make a weenie like Brewer crawl back into his hole? He is already backtracking. Feedback about Brewer:

Chuck, if you need me to pay my dues for BOTH my husband and I, fine. If I'm a registered voter in this freakin' country, I get my own vote in the civic association. GEESH! Man, now I'm fired up to vote tomorrow!

Did we forget to mention Chuck also sits on the Vienna Board of Zoning Appeals? Yes, he really is one of Maud's weenies.

Mixed Use Downtown Vienna? Curmudgeon Maud Says We Already Have Condos! Comments (5)

We have already established the nice work being done in Fairfax City and Clarendon. Vienna has nothing like this, but that doesn't stop Vienna's resident curmudgeon from blurting out this wing ding comment:

Maud where are these condos? Can you name any stock of condos built in Vienna in the last 30 years? So are you either a liar or dumb? Or are we all just dumb in your eyes? Vienna has no such mixed use living Maud, whether you are capable of speaking the truth or not.

Worse yet, hear the Mayor in the background seconding all of Darth Maud's idiotic comments? She has no spine to stand up and speak the truth either.

Charles Brewer: Malcolm Windover Heights Civic Association Con Man & Maud Puppet Comments (1)

A few years back Charles Brewer and Paul Layer organized a mob of citizens to argue against those residents of the historic district seeking relief for inequitable treatment. At this staged and phony meeting, Brewer and Layer took a vote of everyone present. The civic association web site still reflects that 2003 vote:

Total present, including petitioners was 94
Vienna residents – 93
MWHCA residents - 87 (93% of 93)
Historic District residents- 36 (38% of 93; 41% of 87)
Non-Vienna residents – 1 **

Brewer then hauled this "vote" before the Town Council to argue against the residents seeking relief saying essentially, "We are all against this and we voted!"

Now Brewer has a new plan (Read PDF Proposal). He doesn't want individual votes, just one vote per household. Nice change of direction! Maybe you can start the 3/5ths rule again Charles?

Charles Brewer is the kid who never made the sports team, but always cheated in marbles. You, and the rest of your Board members, are transparent cheats. Don't worry, we don't think there are legions of cheats in Vienna. But Maud does have a political machine oiled to precision with around 30-50 captains, all in positions of Vienna power to do her bidding. We will expose them all.

Vienna's No. 1 Comedy Team: Darth Maud and Lieutenant Jane; Their Views on Vienna's Downtown Equal Failure Comments (4)

First, watch this clip:

Sounds great? Two nice elderly ladies speaking with passion about downtown Vienna!

Not exactly.

What is the true story that makes the motivations of Vienna's politicians look suspect? Robinson speaks of a "core". She means between Lawyers Road and Park Street on 123. This means the Vienna Town Council wants to pass a law to allow increased redevelopment on Maple Avenue/123 between those two streets. Sounds great!

Not so fast. None of this land will be redeveloped any time soon. Think about the actual properties in between these two streets:

Magruders? That's not going anywhere. The Town Green and Presbyterian Church. Well, no land to do anything there. Money and King Funeral Home? No, they are not moving. The old Anita's across from Magruders? That piece of land is so small that nothing can be done there unless it is combined with other properties. The Vienna library? No, that's not changing. Whole Foods? Ditto.

What does this all mean? Vienna will pass a law that sounds progressive in the local paper, but allows no change since there is no land. Nice. Thanks Maud and Jane. Thanks for the comedy as you fool no one.

Sadly, there are pieces of land outside of this idiotic and arbitrarily defined "core" ready right now to change. Marco Polo restaurant? Ready to be torn down tomorrow. Why is that property blackballed by Darth Maud?

There is no reason. There is no planning. We simply have an older lady with absolutely nothing going on except sitting on this Council lording over residents with whacked out pronouncements that mean zilch. Not unexpected, for if you read any of this site for more than 5 minutes, regardless of our editorial beliefs, Maud Robinson is clearly unbalanced.

Maybe others have no spine to stand up to her, but we are not just going to sit back and let her go unchecked because she is "elderly." She is in a position of power and she is hurting Vienna for the long term with her combination of no vision, no planning and selfish attitude.

Lastly, to answer Maud's question of "What kind of a Town do we want Vienna to be?" we say Vienna should have leaders who are not lost in time four decades ago. We want leaders who can actually make decisions that help Vienna, not leaders who play politics non-stop for their own self-aggrandizement. Notice that she has NO goal?

As a side note, Seeman has no clue that the study they are discussing, the one taxpayers paid $10,000 for, actually covers from Lawyers to Beulah. She clearly thinks the study was from Lawyers to Park. All Vienna citizens can rest in peace that Vienna's finest minds are at the helm.

Mother Maud Robinson Rips George Lovelace about Town Green Memorial and He Rolls Over Comments (3)

In this clip George Lovelace tries to do the right thing initially:

The clip above has Town of Vienna employee Cathy Salgado also speaking with her back to the camera.

But then Darth Maud retorts:

After Darth Maud said her peace, George shut up.
