No Storm Water Management

While Vienna will have its lovely new Town Green, storm water management is a disaster in Vienna. Below are four pictures from today for one house in Vienna, but there were probably hundreds more flooded. Nice job Maud! Put your HUD money to parks while Vienna floods.

Lewis Street, Windover Court, Orchard & West were a swamp. I'm still at a loss why Maud has never liked sidewalks/curb & gutter. We're not a small, country town anymore.

The Town will tell you to stop whining about this because it was just an unusual amount of rainfall, which will probably never ever happen again. But realistically how many people in this Town run to their basement each time there is a heavy rain? Let's fix the problem because...NEWS FLASH TOWN COUNCIL...I'll bet that there is a good probability we might get heavy rains again! Maybe even this month. Duh!

Geeze Louise! How do you expect to control storm water w/o curbing, gutters and sidewalks in large portions of town? Well we do have many, many deep ditches e.g. Pleasant ST NW, (don't slide in w/o your AAA card in hand). Public works engr, Chu says the town regulates grading if it might cause storm runoff issues on surrounding lots. How come she didn't have a problem issuing an occupancy permit for 316 Windover NW where an acre or more was regraded causing water and mud to flow to the adjoining property. I guess i can't blame her (and her boss) too much for not wanting to go up against dictator Maud, our gutless Mayor and "historic" Laine Hyde.
