Perfect example of government work! In the real world, you'd have to make phone calls and meet with vendors and then present a proposal solution to your manager THE NEXT MORNING! Yes, Maud, your Town is in perpetual adolescence.

McLean Leads for Metro Tunnel Under Tysons Corner
Where's the Town of Vienna?
Maud whined about not getting a seat on the committee to redevelop Tysons Corner. So where is she and the Town of Vienna on the issue of tunneling Metro under Tysons Corner? Shouldn't Vienna be actively involved with McLean's effort to STILL pursue the tunnel option? Next meeting Nov. 15, 2006. At the very least, surrounding communities should cooperate sooner than later so that we can be prepared to actively participate in the redevelopment of Tysons Corner.

Town Green don't you think you are bit harsh? Our Council members have been hard at work on a Vienna Cable TV station since 2003! The records prove it!

one council member wants meetings on cable...others are trying to ban video. clearly open government is not a universally accepted notion in town hall.

The Town has no choice in their openness anymore. Negative ads work! They MUST get their actual message out or else suffer being ravaged by sites like this one.
For example, I can point out here faults with the Maple Avenue enhancement project like constantly crumbling high maintenance brickwork and Maud's garden club planters that trip people and block the pedestrian walkway... and that's what residents will now notice when downtown.. crummy brickwork and narrow difficult walks... thanks to garden club civic planning. Remember the silly hitching posts blocking driveways on Church Street? As they get knocked down, they are not going back up... how much did that cost us? Now they want to install raised planter medians in place of the center turning lane on Maple from Lawyers to Nutley... BEFORE they decide how that section of the commercial corridor might be redeveloped. Not only will this clutter an already impossibly congested roadway, but any such median installation will likely get rip out to allow turning access to future developments. Nevermind that losing ANY of the useable roadway will only worsen the driver's experience in Town. There you have it... a negative but truthful ad. The Town must respond or continue to lose the faithful. Current Town government will not survive this openness... they will not be able to make the transition. Expect attrition through elections... starting with Maud.

I am amazed. I read through the emails to and from the Town and Cox.
Seems one problem was money? Mayor Seeman complained that there is not enough money to get the Video Station off and running.
Hmmm, the town has been collecting about $140,000 each year since Cox came into Vienna and from what I have learned, Verizon is matching these funds, so Vienna is getting almost $300,000 a year for the sole purpose of running the station, and these corrupt politicians are using it for what, I ask?
Kick 'em out, the whole lot of them, they are not working for us!
We should not wait for the quieter members to step up to the plate, because they won't! They all need to go!
