Carey Sienicki: "Don't Worry Maud, I Will Clean Your Toilets Too"
The current Chairman of the Windover Heights Board of Review is Carey Sienicki. She was there sitting in the #2 post when then Chairman Steve Bukont lost his marbles in Dec 05. She learned well from her master. Last night Sienicki delivered one of those nasty magical moments that Vienna politicians are famous for. What happened? Sienicki was asked time and time again: what colors are acceptable in the historic district? She refused to answer. Sienicki was pressed hard, which led to her finest hour as a public servant. Why can't anyone in this town that gets appointed to these boards and committees think on their own two feet without having to be beholden to their Great Leader Maud Marxist Lenin Robinson?
I seem to remember hearing you had some experience in real issues regarding true historicity in your past jobs when you were first introduced to the Windover Heights Board and I remember thinking we might finally have someone with some integrity sitting on this board...
Open you eyes, and speak the truth. I have seen that you really care about this town, I have seen your work and volunteer activities with the School and scouting... why do you draw a line in the sand when it comes to issues of the Windover Heights Board?
If you are not honest with yourself, keep on with what you expressed last evening, otherwise, do the right thing, and stand on your own two feet and stop perpetuating this farce.

I love the list of political quotes you have on the upper right on these pages that change when you refresh these pages, and when I pulled this page up, it was fitting to see this one about this Sienicki issue:

Mrs. Sinecki, I understand from your resume that you actually have some background in Historical Preservation. How can you be so intellectually dishonest to sit on the WHBR and pass judgment on your fellow citizens with no rules or guidelines? Not to mention in 2004 you went on record saying this:
"...there is no guideline...its more subjective than objective."

We are all citizens of Vienna. Most of us enjoy the TOV and all it has to offer. I Like what I see in and around Vienna, and its proximity to DC.
We all have the same concerns to some degree or another. Traffic, pedestrian safety, schools, shopping, dining, police protection, taxes, etc. I could go on.
But, what I cannot and will not excuse is when one of my fellow neighbors, who is no different than me or better than me with regards to any decision making process, gets appointed to a board committee, merely because they are Maud Robinson's buddy, and they subjectively and not objectively pass judgment over issues that directly interfere and VIOLATE my freedoms and constitutional rights as a United States Citizen. That's where I will fight like hell to stop these abuses.
Whether it be a single person, like Damon, Sienicki, Cole, Robinson, Baldwin, Anderson, Hyde, Briglia, Seeman, Creed, Miller, or Umbrell, (the list goes on) or whether it be the whole group, when they sit in a position of power and abuse their positions (which this site has clearly demonstrated) they cease to be neighbors, and become mere bullies.
Vienna deserves better.
