The Laurie Cole Way: Not Good for Vienna
This post on Cole's money grab brought in this feedback:
When is the last time you heard an elected official railing against the evildoers? Bukont and Cole can't answer simple rightful questions from residents about the Town's historic district regulations... what stone or colors are acceptable... but they can call you fu*king morans and evildoers. Isn't that special! Just who are you defending, Laurie Cole... the citizens of Vienna or your builder neighbor who remodeled your kitchen, built your new house, and floated your real estate sales for over a year? If a resident is an evildoer for wanting to know what color he or she is allowed to paint their house, what is someone who uses their position in Town government for personal gain by allowing zoning violations, waiving zoning regulations, defeating the intent of zoning laws, and even trying to rewrite the zoning code to benefit one developer Steve Bukont? The Town is spending years in preparation for zoning code changes to fuel redevelopment of Vienna's commercial areas, but somehow you need to hurry up and change just a few words in one section of the code so that Bukont can pile up soil berms and condos on the old 7-11 commercial site while you pile up the cash. Isn't that special!

This may appear minor to some readers on this site, but to me, it speaks volumes about Laurie Cole is with regards to her actions of deception and having the ability to obstruct juctice by destroying any paper trail of her actions as an elected official in the Town of Vienna.
What is this issue, you wonder?
Look carefully at the Names of the elected officials in Vienna, and look carefully at the emails that is posted on the OFFICIAL TOWN OF VIENNA GOVERNMENT WEBSITE, as to the OFFICIAL EMAIL TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THEM regarding oficials TOV business:

Why does the TOV allow Laurie Cole to receive her OFFICIAL emails at her home, instead of an official email server the TOV supplies?
Could it be because she does not wish these emails to be stored or retrievable from anyone in the TOV?
Also, interesting is the fact that she has a COX email account? Yet she continually acts on issues that relate to Verizon and Cox and whether or not the TOV Vienna broadcasts their meetings and sessions on COX cable?
What is going on here?
Laurie Cole, why don't you have an official government email address at @ci.vienna.va.us, when even Dan Dellinger, who was just recently appointed to replace Mr. Verinder, and he has only been here for a couple of months, and you have been their for years?
Respectfully, Lauire Cole, what are you hiding from? What are you hiding from the TOV? Are you trying to keep the citizens of Vienna from obtaining your emails via FOIA requests?
Attention: News Reporters, do I have to spell it out for you, or can you spot a good investigative story when it's staring you in the face?

Laurie Cole's political ambition begins and ends in Vienna. This track record she has assembled only works as a cog in the Maud machine. Imagine her trying to run for County or State office and explaining her assorted conflicts to a reporter not working for a "free" newspaper. She would be mince meat.

You can trade barbs here all you want. That's the point.
Just be prepared to back it up, as is the site owner.
You don't have to agree, but you better be able to defend your point.
However, whether you like the content or not...
Whether you agree with it or not...
Whether you think it's cynical or not...
it SHOULD make you wonder about the town's leadership.
Do you think that this is all made up?
Take a look around and notice what's going on!
The town is being manipulated and there is corruption that benefits a very few.
And THAT is truth.
This site may take aim at intended leaders, but if you can't stand up to the scrutiny, maybe you should not stand up.
That is the value here...exposure...credit or blame, where it's due.
The site owner and I don't agree on everything, but I appreciate and respect the diligence and efforts put forth to keep Vienna's leadership "open to the public".
It's not an easy task, and nobody has asked for payment.
Agree...Disagree...Agree to disagree
But if you post here, be prepared to speak from fact.
The sad part is that this site is necessary and it troubles me.

AS AN ETHICAL/LEGAL MATTER (CONSULT THE VA STATE BAR ASSN)IT IS UNETHICAL/ILLEGAL FOR A POLITICIAN, JUDGE, OR BUREAUCRAT TO PARTICIPATE FORMALLY OR IN THE BACK ROOM IN ANY DECISION WHEREIN THEY WILL PERSONALLY PROFIT. SUCH IS KNOWN TO ANYONE WHO HAS TAKEN EVEN A BASIC COURSE IN ETHICS OR WHO HAS A LITTLE BIT OF COMMON SENSE.

Did we post Laurie Cole's own personal information? Oops! And now you would like us to stick our head up so you can throw a rock at it? Perhaps that would be more satisfying for you than trying to explain the numerous personal financial transactions between Town Council members and one developer Steve Bukont, and the special allowances they give to his home business, which are evident all over town. But I doubt an investigative reporter would be startled and shocked by an anonymous discussion of local government corruption. Instead, they are probably reading this blog daily, making their lists and checking them twice, and hoping to be the first to print the big story once the shadow of disgrace has eclipsed a shadow of doubt. If your posts can't shine some light on one or the other, then you're just wasting their time.

If the person running this site is a private citizen, then good on them for keeping their identity private -- especially in light of town council members who are publicly and privately abusing their positions.
