Laine Hyde's Companion Walter Basnight Attacks Cameraman
While Congressman Tom Davis and Fairfax County Chairman Gerry Connelly were in the house, Laine Hyde's companion attacked a cameraman at the The Vienna-Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce Casino Night on Saturday night. Hyde's beau was the only person in the building launching attacks, everyone else wanted to pose for the camera!
What do we mean attacked? Walter Basnight (listed as a citizen member on the Chamber web site) put his hands on the cameraman (and attempted to break the camera) and then attempted to push him to the floor. It was bizarre. Witnesses were aghast.
Laine Hyde is of course the head of the Town sponsored sham operation Historic Vienna, Inc. and sits on the Town of Vienna Commercial Architectural Review Board. Does this woman really need to be involved in Vienna government? Is this the best we can do?

Warning to "Companion": put your hand on someone again, and you will have more problems than you care to deal with. Go back under the rock from where you crawled. FYI, the Chamber of Commerce should dump this goon as a member.

This type of acting is what you might expect to see in some small hick town about 30 years ago.

FOR SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT WISH TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED AT A PUBLIC EVENT, HE SURE KNOWS HOW TO GET IT DONE REPEATEDLY. WHY NOT JUST TURN YOUR BACK WALTER?

This seems very odd to me. If this is true, as you so claim about others wanting their pictures to be taken, why choose to only show those of this man? If your intentions are sincerely true, than maybe you could post more about the positive photos during this event. . .

"Vienna" what is odd? Guy did not want his picture taken and attacked the photographer. He is a goon and par for the course inside Neanderthal Vienna politics.

"Goon police" did you not read my "whole" comment? I am saying that if this was a photo op party, then maybe we can see the pictures of all who were posing for the camara??? Could you post them?
I have looked through many different pics here, and I do not see anyone who seems comfortable in front of your camara. All I am saying is maybe this man was provoked? Also for a man who is trying to throw someone to the ground, he looks like he is just finger pointing to me...

Wow, some Maud machine style logic! Let us get this straight. Just because a photo doesn't exist of this goon grabbing a photographer's arm and attempting to push him to the ground, it didn't happen? How was the photographer supposed to take a picture when his arm was held onto by Hawaii 5-0 fan? You might not want to bark up that tree as this goon's pitiful behavior was witnessed by others.

Well, it seems that I have hit some kind of a nerve Historic Vienna. Also, just so you know, I do not take your threats to heart, "You might not want to bark up that tree". Surely you did not mean it, and therefore I shall forgive you.
Here is the rub. . .Paparazzi always manage to get their picture. I have seen many photogs being attacked and they still manage to snap "That one" incriminating photo. So by your comment it would seem to me that the said incident may have been provoked??? Hey, here's the thing...I would think that if the man in question did as you said. . .would he not have been arrested for something so serious as attacking the camera man? Your words..."What do we mean attacked? Walter Basnight (listed as a citizen member on the Chamber web site) put his hands on the cameraman (and attempted to break the camera) and then attempted to push him to the floor. It was bizarre. Witnesses were aghast." Surely assault would be cause for an arrest???
So was he arrested? I am curious to know. Also, how is the camera man? Was he okay? No injuries I hope. I shall await your response, and I am sure it will be, oh what is the word...entertaining, yes that's the word!
