George Lovelace: Saying Nothing
From George Lovelace this week:
"I’ve grown to understand Vienna, grown to understand what it is to be in Vienna, and how it’s important to retain those ideals that the town was founded on...The last thing I want to see happen is for Vienna to lose its unique quality."
Blah, blah, blah, blah...
Do any of these incumbents have the ability to say something remotely relevant? Do we simply put Lovelace back in office because he is a nice guy? We should give new people a chance to solve problems that Lovelace clearly can't solve. It's time for George to get the gold Vienna watch and an easy chair. Him and Maud could perhaps form a checkers club to pass the time.

I don't want MY tax money to pay for any silly watch!
Those things are given to people that have performed!!!
Give them the boot?
Oh yes!
But smile and be friendly about it!

It's all very philosophical really. George is simply saying there is an certain intangibleness to what Vienna means to him and perhaps, putting it into words, will lose whatever meaning he has grown to not quite be able to comprehend but he knows probably exists in far reaches of his mind.
Everyone get that?!
George perhaps I can help you with a few "concrete" examples of why I love Vienna so much:
1. Lots and lots of traffic
2. Lots and lots of bank robberies
3. No sidewalks
4. No beer at town festivals
5. The morning commute down Maple Avenue
6. Maud's hair clips
7. The Scientology hut at ViVa Vienna (I *heart* Tom Cruise)
8. Non-residents who put blankets down to "reserve" front-row seats for the Halloween parade
9. Historic Vienna, Inc. (you go girls!)
