Obscene Talk

One reader writes:

"Now that the election is over, this site seems to be melting down into useless name-calling. can we identify some things we'd like to accomplish & then figure out how to accomplish them?"

Good feedback! However, there appears to be a REASON for some of the post election negative remarks on this blog.

ONE individual who goes by several screen names ("Banner Reader" & "Cooler Head?" to name a few) has said ALL of this:

  • ...GETTING BURNED BY [...] LIKE 20 YEARS AGO IS STILL STINGIN' HUH [...]??!!11!!1 TRY SOME MIDOL!!!!1!!! LOLWTF DUDE How much effort and how many ad hominem attacks can you possibly invest in his widow, rich boy? Go suckle your [...] teet a bit more ... maybe when you grow up, you might have a chance at some position of note and/or authority, you hack 3-time loser. But probably not ... you'll just flounder in obscurity and failure like you always have!...
  • As it should be. The qualified candidates won.
  • "Taking part in the process" means going to budget hearings and commenting on the proposed budget. I'm not aware of either "challenger" (both of whom post on this site, one seemingly with more regularity than the other, and both of whom have taken great issue with how town monies are collected and spent) attending a budget hearing this year and/or using their VOICE to critique the proposed budget. Keyboards, even more so than alcohol it seems, are the source of great but impotent courage.
  • Sure, I saw a feeble stab at it with the whole "Cole and Bukont" are in bed together, but what all that amounted to was a bunch of incohesive "facts," with no connection between them. It was like a mathematical proof that was lacking every third step. In the end, it was, quite honestly, nothing more than question begging, circular junk.
  • If you can't keep a vigilant eye on your children, KEEP THEM AWAY FROM 123. Duh. Seriously. Kids don't get run over in malls, either, but ask John Walsh what else can happen to them. At worst, if your kid gets smashed -- and I'm sorry to sound cold about it -- it's contributory negligence, and most of the blame will be squarely on your head: ASSUMPTION OF THE RISK. You do it every time you choose to walk out the door.
  • I just don't see Vienna town voting as usually including many "undecideds," who would be swayed that easily one way or the other -- this site is a perfect example of that (getting one of you to vote for Maud would be more difficult than teaching a goldfish to sit, roll-over and play dead; likewise for what you describe as the "Maudites").
  • Or just someone who's driven down Maple Avenue at least once in the previous month and didn't have their head so far up their ass that they couldn't notice the gigantic banner proclaiming May 1 to be Election Day. That banner might have tipped you off that something was afoot. How's it smell up there...?
  • No one but you would watch a televised meeting, and no one gives a rat's ass about you, so it would be a colossal waste of money.
  • I guess if you really really care about it, you could get a petition together that shows a bunch of signatures that say something like, "If the town televised council meetings, that would be valuable, and we would watch them." On second thought, people will sign anything (speaking of which, I once saw a funny Penn Jillette skit where he got tree-huggers at a mass love-the-earth thing to sign a petition banning Dihydrogen Monoxide. It was f-ing hysterical) so maybe that's not a good indication of who would watch it. But petitions are cool and look important so you should do it anyway.
  • I have no idea whether the minutes of the council meetings are accurate. Like I said, I don't go to the meetings because I don't want to and I don't care.
  • That's what I'm saying about televising meetings. Maybe the town can afford it, but nobody will use it, so it's a waste of money.

Quite a collection of views from April 30, 2007 through May 4, 2007 isn't?

Here is where it gets interesting, this is Vienna after all! On the heels of today's Washington Post article on Election fraud, would it surprise you if the person who wrote all of the above was:

  1. A Town resident?
  2. A former Town employee?
  3. The son of a current SENIOR executive working in Vienna Town government today?
  4. A 35-year old man who works as an attorney at Dechert LLP?

The answer is "yes" for all four. Go back and read all of the diatribes under the names "Banner Reader" and "Cooler Head?". They make take on a different meaning now. Clearly certain elements of Vienna in control of the government are imploding. Posting his verbatim comments is not designed to take this site down the mud trail, but rather to show how those close to Vienna government really think. Arrogant aren't they?

Comments

I didn't write the first one. It's funny, though. Hahaha.

Now, who are YOU?

Banner Reader -
Was it your dad?

I highly doubt it.

I'm not aware of either "challenger" (both of whom post on this site, one seemingly with more regularity than the other, and both of whom have taken great issue with how town monies are collected and spent) attending a budget hearing this year and/or using their VOICE to critique the proposed budget.

How do you know this to be true? Were you there or did someone in Town government tell you?

I was not at any of the budget hearings. Nor did I hear anything about any of the meetings from any town employees.

Your play, genius.

Hey Counselor.... How about a libel suit?

Hey layman, for what?

BTW, when's Vienna Mommy gonna weigh in here? I just want to make sure that she's part of the fun.

Now is Banner reader also Cool Head? Because if so I see a bit of hypocrisy going on. I thought that YOU were the one to try to build some bridges in communication. That part of your personality might want to shine through more, but the antagonistic personality may be more telling of who YOU really are. So which is it Banner or Cool Head?

I could care less about bridges.

Then what do you hope to gain?

gain? wha?

nice pic

If you're going to denounce Banner Reader as a potty-mouth, you need to denounce yourself as well. Some examples:

http://www.historicvienna.com/2006/08/town_green_ground_breaking.html which features a graphic with the word "BULLS**T" in big capital letters

http://www.historicvienna.com/2007/01/jane_seeman_historic_hypocrite.html which opens with a complaint about "fake Vienna history c**p"

http://www.historicvienna.com/2006/05/salsbury_spring_springs_a_leak.html which talks about "a load of c**p."

http://www.historicvienna.com/2005/12/the_video_ban_spin_continues.html which features yet another appearance of "c**p" [One wonders whether you have enough fiber in your diet]

http://www.historicvienna.com/2006/10/fairfax_city_has_leaders_why_n.html which talks about "kicking a$$"

http://www.historicvienna.com/2006/09/laine_hyde_goes_off_the_deep_e.html which calls someone a "political horse's a$$"

People who live in glass houses. . .

Calm down Sugar.

This is a message board, not People's Court.

I didn't realize that that was a tough question Banner reader. What do you hope to gain by attacking this site? To discredit it? Too late I think!

Oh, and "B"? I'm still waiting.

Unless what you meant was, "Hey, 'Banner Reader?' How would you like to represent Ms. Salgado in a libel suit against [Historic Vienna] for PUBLISHING the malicious falsehood that she intends to stick small children with a cattle prod?"

My answer to that would be, I think it might be a winner, but that's not my practice. I've got friends who practice out in Fairfax County, and they might handle those sorts of cases. If Ms. Salgado's interested, I can hook her up with them.

That was a GREAT POINT, B!!! Good lookin' out, kid!!!!

I challenge you to quote all the vulgar comments that Banner Reader posted on this blog. I'll bet you will throw up while doing it.

I don't think anyone has held Ms. Salgado responsible for the Town Green foibles-a cattle prod? I don't remember reading that either. Quite a stretch there.

Go here. Libel or parody - your call. Of course Salgado is a functionary of the Town Government, personally overseeing much of this historic nonsense.

Sarcasm is out here? Banner reader you take yourself a bit too serious. Are you a lawyer? Cause there aren't enough of those with opinions!!!!!!!
