Howard Springsteen Does Nothing
Howard Springsteen, a Town of Vienna busy body and self-appointed transportation guru, has refused to solve problems at the intersection of Church Street and Lawyers Road (as but just one example). His lack of action, knowing there is a huge problem, has put Vienna residents in jeopardy. Vienna's Transportation Safety Commission needs to toss this guy and get people who care about safety, not just people who care only about sucking the political nipple.
On another front, do Springsteen's Fairfax County bosses have any idea how politically active he is in Vienna? Why should County residents be forced to have a County employee, like Springsteen, actively pushing corrupt political agendas against them when they pay his salary?

Howard Springsteen, Vienna Resident &
Fairfax County Department of Vehicle Services Logistics Manager
Salary: $74,352.66

I will not tell the whole story, Fred Skaer can do that, but before a citizen suggested a light on the opposite side of Maple Ave at the Follin Lane intersection the so called Safety Board after hundreds of hours of deliberation came up with rumble strips, blinking lights, red light cameras over a period of years. As stated, a citizen solved the problem and it took years thereafter before the light could be installed. Now lets also talk about left turn off Nutley onto Tapawingo. The same citizen has asked for relief of that problem but never heard anything from the town. At the Nutley intersection you have to sneak through on yellow, but try it with the red light runners. Are we going to get speed bumps on Tapawingo? I would put the speed bump craze as just that, crazy.

After witnessing Howard Springsteen's disgusting behavior on election day, I will not be giving another dime to the Vienna Fire Department.

Vienna's Transportation Safety Commission has only met 3 times in the last 5 months. Why is that when we have so many traffic issues in this town?

Who's Chairman of the Transportation Committee? Is it this guy?

Mom-you have got to be kidding, with all the traffic problems in Vienna these guys are not meeting every month. Pathetic. Are they waiting for citizens to come before them with petitions rather than look around and be pro-active? Do nothing until someone complains, gets hurt, or dies? You all should be very proud of yourself.

Big Fish:
What kind of behavior did Howard exhibit at the elections?

He was inside the polling place, inside the community center, attempting to hand people copies of this website. Apparently, the mere mention of this website causes some Vienna voters to have a stroke and vote for Maud. Maybe the other poster has different info, but we suspect this is what they refer to.

Citizens that sit on commissions get paid. It isn't much pay but they get paid. When TSC does not have a meeting, do these citizens/members get paid anyway? If they don't have a meeting, they shouldn't get paid. Otherwise hold a meeting and be pro-active.

Anyone would know that any unusual activity within the polling place would be political. Where was Regina Jordan when this was taking place? BTW can anyone place the publication by George Lovelace soliciting Citizen solutions to the traffic problem at Lawyers Rd. and Church St.?

A review of the polling laws reveal that passing out information to influence the voters at the polls is forbidden. Clear Cut. Now what should be the towns action toward anyone that violated that law?
