"Anyone Call the Police?"

Fairfax County's Electoral Board, consisting of Electoral Board Members and the Office of The Registrar, met following Vienna's May 1 election. Their monthly meeting included candid conversations about this year's election.

Listen Now (MP3). This is 7:26 minutes (8.6 MB) of "talk" that Mother Maud and Mayor RedHunter ain't going to be happy about. Props goes to the County for talking honestly about Vienna politics.

Best lines from the meeting: "Anyone call the police?" [Statement made after hearing about Rhoda Stevens], "it looks a little sketchy" [Statement about Vienna politics] and "What happened yesterday is not fair".

On top of this, from the Sun Gazette this week:

[The Town Council] Asked Town Attorney Steven Briglia to review questionable actions taken by some election officers during the May 1 town election and present a report on the matter. “It's very important that voters have confidence in our electoral process,” said Council member Laurie Cole.

Hey Laurie, how about an independent source for the investigation? Briglia, the Town Council's attorney, you are serious? Why not a committee including citizens and Town outsiders? This "incest is best" routine of yours is getting old.

Note: When one of the winning candidates is referred to as being 80 years old in the audio clip, that is incorrect. Maud is 85.

Who knew that when you run for office in Vienna that you have to be willing and able to call the Police during the day of the election?!

If age isn't an issue, how come Maud lets people write and think she is 80, when in fact she is 85? What is this woman's exact birth date? If age isn't an issue she should be proud to run on her full 85 years. But if she is willing to essentially either lie or let lies be told about something as factual as her birth date, what else would she be willing to lie about?

WOW. I AM SPEECHLESS.

"20 years ago we allowed this to happen"...
"conflict of interest"...
"Jane said she might do something"...
...and they were aware of this last year.
This is criminal! And it sounds like the County is relieved that the challengers are not doing anything.

Well well it appears that the TC has been caught with their hand in the cookie jar? Now what people, business as usual?

I think there is ample evidence that someone has committed a crime here. I hope this is not just swept under the carpet.

None of our state or national politicians want to do anything about this crap since it could affect their re-election chances. The want it to all go away.

Sad.

I for one will call the Town, County, AND State Police if any of these old geezers try to interfere with my right to vote as I see fit. Anyone care to join me?

I hope we all will Pontific8tor!
