Seeman on Recent #70
From the Sun Gazette:
OK, so it's not the No. 4 ranking from two years ago. Regardless, Vienna leaders say they are still happy, that CNN/Money Magazine ranked the town No. 70 in its annual list of the 100 Best Places to Live in the United States. Vienna Mayor M. Jane Seeman welcomed the laurels, but said town residents did not need a magazine ranking to know Vienna is a pleasant place in which to live. “It's always good to get recognition, but it's not something we hold our breath for,” Seeman said.
Hmm. We thought Jane was responsible for the #4, but this comment seems to put distance between her and any ranking of Vienna. Keep the faith! Jane and Maudasaurus have a year to make changes. They can get us back to #4 soon enough!

Comments
Jane might better hold her breath to wait to see the size of the legal bills that she racks up on our behalf, with the Historic District chicanery, election chicanery, fireworks disaster, etc.

Apparently Mama Red Hunter knows that the survey was done before July 4th.

“It's always good to get recognition, but it's not something we hold our breath for,”
Is that so, Jane? How come during campaign season there are banners/signs all over town touting the "4th Best Place to Live"? How come it's plastered all over Town Hall?
Sure seems like someone cares a whole bunch.
But, hey, I get you have to act nonchalant when the bad ranking comes to Town (or none at all like last year).

Phew! Dodged the bullet that time, Jane!
Only the “Mayor” and her boss could pull a positive side out of this 4th to 70th, which, as a friend of mine so eloquently put, sucks.
If I were her, I’d be clutching at straws too, after all, TC and Co are to blame.
The first law of politics: When it goes bad, pretend it’s good. Duh.
