Sue Allard: Historic Hypocrite
A few years ago Sue Allard, a resident of the Windover Heights Historic District at 315 West Street, NW, chained herself to a tree to try and prevent her neighbor from building a new house. Guess what? Now Allard is cutting down a massive tree in her front yard to add on to her house. The people involved in the sham that is Vienna's historic district are hypocritical nut jobs. Pictures to follow.

Was it one of the trees Jefferson planted on the hill?

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
Anyone want to meet me today by Sue's tree for a poetry reading? It may be the last time since it's being taken down as we speak.

May I add some additional data? More correctly, she was trying to protect one of the so-called historical properties. The lot had been sold to a developer and was being cleared to accomodate 2 large new homes that were going up in place of one of the few remaining "historical" homes.
There was no "neighbor" at the time, nor was there a house at the time.
(don't interrogate me about the significance about the original structure please)

Ms. Allard was not chained to the house.
She cost the builder a lot of money not to mention the homeowners who were trying to build their home. This may not mean anything to you but a one-man builder relies on work to get done to support his family. Screwing with his livelihood is juvenile.
And, the Historic Review board let all of this be done but, of course, not before completely destroying one family.

The house on the property where Allard chained herself to a tree, like all houses in the historic district was never inventoried. Meaning the lazy leaders in Vienna never bothered to write down what was in the historic district (or on this particular property) in 1979 when their sham district was created. On top of that, the silly historic district by their own admission does not stop anyone from tearing down any house (look at Stevens house; look at the tree he cut down). So what is the point of the whole district? There is no point. It is a joke and these people's actions (like chaining themselves to a tree) are mindless at best.
Allard, Hyde, Sloan, Lillis, etc. worked together to make sure the original family who sought to move there could not. It was some of the most twisted and sick neighbor behavior ever witnessed. Doesn't anyone wonder why people like Hyde don't get up in arms and file libel suits about blunt descriptions of their behavior? They might be corrupt, but they are not dumb. They can't sue over the truth.
