So we have dropped 66 slots in the last 2 (or is it 3?) years. Must be some symbolic significance there, as traffic on Interstate 66--as well as the Metro Orange Line--has deteriorated quite a bit since then as well.

Town of Vienna Fosters Divorce?
as i said earlier, these ratings are highly subjective and not really valid or useful. the ratings don't go into details like whether the Metro has deteriorated, in fact, I don't believe transit is factored in at all. It is interesting to compare Vienna with "Wolftrap" which makes the list as one of the highest earning places. Wolftrap is not a town, but a census tract located directly north of Vienna. it shares most of the same characteristics as Vienna, since it is nearly identical locationally. (same # of restaurants, movie theaters, etc. within 15 miles; same # colleges w/in 30 miles, etc.) but some of the differences are as follows:
median family income: Vienna $110k, Wolftrap $170k; Median housing value: Vienna 664k, Wolftrap 894k. So residents of vienna spend 6 times their income on housing, while Wolftrap spends 5.3 times their income. Property tax: Vienna residents spend 5.1% of their income, while Wolftrap res spend only 3.5%. School test scores are considerably higher in Wolftrap. one of the more interesting stats is the divorce rate. In wolftrap it's 3.1% while in Vienna, it's more than twice as high: 6.8%. So what has Maude done to make married couples break up at such an alarming rate???
