Vienna Gets Response from Fairfax County Over May Elections; Cole Gets Testy
Vienna Town Attorney Steve Briglia recently sent a letter to the County regarding Vienna's May Elections. Laurie Cole at last night's Town Council meeting was none too happy with the County's response (PDF) to Briglia's letter and requested that Briglia write another letter. Video of Cole complaining to follow. It's now July and the May elections are still "boiling". Why is that?

What were the high (or should I say, low) points of Little Laurie's hissy fit?

About the Steve Briglia letter to the board... "Dear Maggi"? Quite condescending. She caught it and came back with a formal reply. I was surprised Briglia didn't sign his letter "Love Stevie".

It appears that the Town Council's inquiry via Briglia into their own election irregularities yielded far more negative feedback than they wanted to hear. And now Cole wants to send another letter of inquiry to the County? Sounds like her investigation won't be over until the fat lady sings!
>>It is our understanding that the Clerk also recommends a Chief and Assistant Chief Officer and attempts to select Officers so as to provide equitable representation to all of the geographic regions of the Town. -Fairfax County
Huh??? Equitable representation of all of the Town's residents? Hardly! Town elections are always and fully staffed by senior citizens... Maud's garden club cronies.

Shouldn't the town government have knowledge of the election procedures they conduct? There should be a historical record of town activities. Why can't the town explain their election procedures in defense of what happened? They are following the rules, I hope.
