Weichert Sign Next to Town Green Causes Maudites to Stroke Out
Apparently several Maudites are up in arms over the new yellow Weichert sign on the building at the corner of Maple Avenue and Mill Street. The sign is on the side of the building facing the Town Green. Why are they are upset? The ordinance and the board (ARB) that granted approval for the sign were both conceived by the Maud and Charlie Robinson team to make Vienna look better (some success eh?). The circular nature of Vienna politics is something to behold isn't it? Dumb and dumber!

Town Green becomes Times Square. Anyone checked out Whole Foods proximity. I like it. Too bad we can't have an artful bike rack.

So we have a tangle of high power lines on one side, and a mess of ridiculous planters cluttering up the sidewalk, and they're upset about a little sign?

Why aren't they upset about the dead trees and plants? Personally I also miss the established fruit tees that lined the bike path.

The town green brings back memories of old movies I had seen. Remember the Alfred Hitchcock movie where the last man on earth, who loved to read, was on the library steps but stepped on his glasses. I think that was the case with the TG today. How about the French movie about the home with all the modern conveniences and a fountain and automatic driveway gates. The lady of the house turned on the fountain each time the doorbell would ring and before the driveway gates would open. Perhaps the TG could have a fountain button similar to the crosswalk control.

Ah yes, a Weichert sign. A symbol of commerce and free enterprise. A taxpaying entity. No wonder the Maudites are up in arms. Can't very well allow respectable taxpayers to advertise in THIS town.

What is causing Maud problems is that just 2-3 years ago, she would have just not approved the sign for some reason. Now, people (perhaps, because of this site) are getting savvy to how Maud works and she has to start approving stuff whether she likes it or not since there aren't any guidelines.

I think the sign was approved based on existing guidelines and under those circumstances no one could deny it. When you go for ice cream at Dairy Queen note the signs on the side of the building next door. The only solution to the perceived problem is for the town to buy the building and evict the realty company.

I really have nothing to say about this. I just thought I'd state that the irony makes me feel good inside and out.
I mean, Maud and her gang throwing a pink fit over their own policies? Hilarious! As far as I know, all of Weichert's ventures are legal. Maybe that's what got Maud riled?

I did a double take when I saw the sign. It is ugly and I can't imagine why Weichert chose it. (Also, there is way too much cement/brick in the town green.)

Weichert's business location may be temporary at the TG. Therefore, the sign would be temporary. And also, the building may be temporary. Would it have sufficed to say the building may be temporary?
