George Lovelace Targets Vienna Block Parties
Town Council member George Lovelace tonight wanted to make sure that the block party problem in Vienna was under control. You did not know there was a block party problem? No one else on Town Council knew it was a problem either. Good to see that Lovelace is at the top of his game working for Vienna citizens.

I wonder if George is targeting the African American community around him. Several neighbors hold block parties every summer. I am unaware of there ever being a problem with them.

Is this a preventative measure to keep his daughter from being arrested again?
From the Town of Vienna Crime Report:
Arrest, April 20
900 block Maple Ave., E.
10:13 a.m. April 20
During a traffic stop, Donalda Lovelace, 22, 425 West St., N.W., Vienna, was charged with driving on a suspended license and possession of marijuana.

This is the same young woman who had a lot to say about this website at the spring elections.
Wonder if she likes finally being content?

I want to know how Maud is able to get her hand up Goerge's [...0 to pull his strings with him on side of the TC table and her on the other? Or does she simply rely on Cole to pull his strings? You saw the strings getting away from her last Monday when George went off on some tangent about block parties, and all I could hear from the TC audience was a bunch of snickering and bewilderment as to why this guy hasn't got enough brains to notice that the TC forum was not the appropriate environment for such inane chatter.
Makes you really wonder, whether he needs to visit the wizard of oz, for some help.
Yuk, yuk, yuk.
Well, as long as he votes with Maud, he's safe. Right Maud?

One would think that the TC has better things to worry about... it's not like Vienna's known for wild parties.

There's a party going on across the street from me as we speak. I'll let you know if George shows up to break it up.

George Lovelace needs to retire. He has got to be kidding! If he thinks that block parties are some sort of evil, he has fallen off the edge. Block parties bring people together and make neighborhoods neighborly. Get a life George!

Block parties encourage neighbors to get together and form relationships. But the problem with this is that talking to each other, liking each other, and gaining information is not encouraged in Vienna. It is best to keep people pitted against each other without information.

Now I know why George had this random objection. He was making it on behalf of Mike Polychrones.
Mike and his wife live in Patrick Circle. Yesterday (Sunday Sept. 16) there was a block party on Patrick St., from Cottage to Ross Drive. Every year, Mike and his wife (who everyone in the neighborhood says is crazy as a loon) have tried to prevent the block party, which is usually a great time for everyone (but those two [,,,].)
Seeing as how Mike is looking to get re-elected next year, George was trying to do some dirty work for him. Makes you wonder what George asked for when he agreed to do it.

If you pay attention closely, they ONLY care about issues (whether real or imagined) that affects them personally OR their reelection.
These are not politicians who use their power for the common good. It's for the common good of Maud or George or Jane or, in this case, Mike.

IF THE TC WERE CONCERNED ABOUT THE COMMON GOOD, THEY WOULD ALL RESIGN.

I think I know why! Our community had a block party, the organizer invited the Mayor. She declined due to previous commitment. George must be upset that he was not invited!
