Thanks so much for the info, its awesome to hear that people are watching these crazy old bats!

((BTW, it just so seems that these old bats hide in their caves whenever you confront them! Lame Halloween joke attempt, sorry))!

Congratulations to Kenny Smith for his recognition. My only question is what is the Vienna Woman's Club? Is this the same group of women who run the garden club (re: Maud)?

Officer Kenny Smith was named Vienna's Police Officer of the Year by the Vienna Woman's Club, which annually presents the award.

Smith, 32, has been with Town of Vienna Police for just three years, but in that time he has managed to make an impression. According to a released statement from the Vienna police, "Officer Smith makes many quality arrests and is very proactive when it comes to police work."

The Vienna Woman’s Club Officer of the Year Award has been given to an outstanding member of the town’s police force since 1967. Smith was nominated by his fellow officers and superiors and received the award at a banquet on Oct. 17 at the Westwood Country Club.

"I was looking for a job that had a little more freedom than working in an office," said Smith, of how he came to police work. Smith said he doesn't find crime fighting in Vienna scary.

"It can be a little stressful, but Vienna's small enough that you get very close to the people you work with," Smith said.

Vienna police officers like Smith cruise the streets of Vienna alone, dividing the town up into patrol areas and then rushing to one another's aid when duty calls.

"Vienna's different from other places because you get to do a little bit of everything," Smith said.

Smith's colleagues describe him as "mild-mannered and quiet," but speaking after receiving the award, he had a lot to say about the police in Vienna.

"We have a good police force, a small, vigilant police force," he said.

lol Kenny Smith is a good guy. He generally doesnt go for "small" things regarding the law, but if it is something big, he will nab you!

He is one of the more ...helpful officers. There are a couple on his squad who are a-holes though, sorry :(

You rock Minerva! Glad you are out there:-)

Good to see some youngsters out there joining us. Perhaps some of you will unseat the poltroons currently "serving" on the TC.
