How About a Knife in Your Side with Your Coffee Ma'am?
Vienna Mommy writes:
Let me get this straight - two knife attacks that we know about. Cedar Lane is out of control. This simply has NEVER, EVER been common practice in Vienna. I refuse to believe we should tolerate this any longer.
Man Attacked with Knife at Shopping Center in Vienna by BRIAN TROMPETER Tuesday, November 27, 2007A Vienna man suffered knife wounds after he was attacked by a group of men on Nov. 21 at the Cedar Lane Shopping Center in southeast Vienna, Vienna police said.
The victim was walking toward Young's Market in the shopping center at around 9:42 p.m. when he heard someone yell “Stop” in Spanish slang terms, police said.
The victim allegedly was grabbed by two Hispanic males on the arms. A third Hispanic male suspect, wielding a knife, approached the victim from the front, police said.
The third suspect then began slashing the victim across his stomach, causing a non-life-threatening laceration, authorities said. The victim attempted to grab the knife and was cut across his hand, police said.
The victim was able to free himself from the three subjects and run away towards Park Street. The assailants chased the victim, but were unable to catch him, police said.
Fairfax County Police resources were called in to assist Vienna police in the search for the subjects. Officers were unable to locate the assailants using K-9 and other methods. The suspects are described as Hispanic males, one of them having a shaved head.
Police ask anyone with information related to this case to contact Detective Scott Leroux at (703) 255-6332 or sleroux@viennava.gov.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5 2007Around 8:53 p.m., PFC Dean Bailey of the Vienna Police Department stopped a 1997 Toyota Corolla in the 200 block of Maple Avenue SE for failing to use headlights. According to the Vienna Police Department, PFC Bailey determined that the driver, Walter Martinez, was wanted in connection with his alleged involvement in a robbery and malicious wounding at the Cedar Lane Shopping Center [For reference the location in question] in June. In the earlier incident, a security guard at the shopping center observed three men attempting to break into an automobile. One of them was armed with a knife, police said. When police responded, they located an injured robbery victim. A police statement about the June incident described Martinez as a known member of [a local gang]. Additionally, Martinez had two warrants on file for failing to appear at court hearings in Fairfax County. Bailey arrested Martinez and transported him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he is currently being held without bond. Jose Javier Ayala, also connected with the June incident at the Cedar Lane shopping center, remains at large.

Having heard King Connolly bloviate 1001 times about how he wants to focus on "illegal behavior" rather than immigration status (of course, illegal entry into the US constitutes illegal behavior, but I guess that is beyond Gerry's ability to comprehend), let's see if the old gasbag is REALLY prepared to lend assistance to the Town police in these matters.

In an article published just a day before the stabbing, Vienna's Mayor Jane Seeman denied that there was a problem at the Cedar Park Shopping Center. She said: "I believe we're pretty much on top of this."
So I see. Thanks, Jane.

This is a great example as to why this site has beat Seeman and Robinson senseless for posing as cops earlier in the year. What would those two do if a teen starts wielding a knife? Quick, life or death moment. What do they do? Stroke, heart attack? This is the real world and the fact that we have a near 90 year old women patrolling the street posing as a cop is beyond moronic, it would be criminal if she was in a situation she could not handle where someone was hurt or killed.

Good old Mayor Boob... she's a real treat. "Jaywalking is rampant you're right."... especially around her church on Sundays. On life threatening fireworks, "It kills me to have to move them from out of Vienna,". Fire?... well, "It's just hard to prepare for fire!" Yeah, she's on top of it... here's her latest accomplishment:
Vienna has been around how long and they finally decide in October, 2007, to fit two sidewalks together! Yeah, that boob has got it all under control.

Man Attacked with Knife at Shopping Center in Vienna by Brian Trompeter
Oh, No! Brian Trompeter is attacking people at shopping centers?!
I should have figured as much, Maud does use him for all her dirty work.

Many weeknights and every weekend, we have police cars flying down Patrick St. to get to the Cedar Park Shopping Center and the Vienna Park Apartments.
I have to wonder how much of our police time and budget goes towards dealing with this problem area of Vienna.
It really makes much more sense for the Town to force Southern Management and First Washington Realty to clean their acts up. How about fining them per number of police calls or requiring heavy security 24/7 at the apartments and shopping center?

You ask yourself, Why? does this town bury its head in the sand regarding the plethora of problems that prevail and are posted on this site.
Maud is afraid. If she were to admit that these are real problems, she would have to admit to the town and (worse, herself) that things are changing, and the thing that she is most afraid of is change. Her whole existence on the TC and running Jane and her people, is to fight change at all costs, and to do her best to pretend that things will always remain the same. This is what old people do.
What younger people do, is to work and see solutions and try to act in ways to protect their families, their jobs, their children. This doesn't enter into Maud's mind, because she has never had a family, never a real job, and never a child.
Who do you think is better to make decisions for Vienna?
The choice is yours.

I do know that last night (Dec 2nd) that police responded to a drunk-fight at El Punto or whatever that place is next to Neighbors lol. I was driving past there and stopped to ask one of the officers (Larry, cant think of his last name) what was up. Now that I think about it, Officer Kenny Smith (Officer of the Year!) had mentioned a few times before that some crazy fights do break out there. I would have to assume that the police have to get there quickly in order to break those things up, so that could account for a lot of the fly-bys by the Vienna police.

Hi Minerva,
It sounds like you get inside scoop from your police friends that the town doesn't share anywhere else -- including their weekly "crime report."
Is there any way that you could report regularly on what you learn?
Posted by: info needed, please | December 3, 2007 12:24 PM
There are only a couple of officers who I talk with (and some that I avoid because they think they are hot stuff because they have a badge). Its not really inside info, and I dont really get a chance to chat with them on a regular basis.
The reason I have this "info" is because I ask LOL. Last night, I drove by, then being the nosy girl that I am, stopped into CVS (had to pick up some stuff anyways) and then (after all the police had cleared except one officer who was just keeping an eye on the place while the other officers went on their way) asked Larry what had happened and who was on his squad.
Anyway, I will do my best to keep everyone informed on anything interesting that I hear (or anything that has been discussed). I will probably have to get info sporadically because its not cool to be so nosy and always be hanging around when Im not even a cop LOL! I will see if I can catch a ride-along soon :)
