Maud's Legacy

Vienna - Oakton

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 11 2007
On Dec. 8, at approximately 12:20 a.m., officers from the Town of Vienna Police Department responded to the Wolftrap Motel on Maple Avenue in Vienna, to arrest three subjects alleged to be transporting a large quantity of marijuana. The arrest was the result of an ongoing investigation conducted by the Vienna Police. The officers had been conducting surveillance for several weeks and developed leads on suspects believed to be involved in the drug trade, police said. At the motel, Vienna police located three suspects. During their interaction with the three men, officers observed what they knew to be a "duty gun belt," similar to the ones worn by law enforcement, in the trunk of their vehicle. The holster was empty and the officers inquired as to the whereabouts of the weapon, police said. The officers were informed by the suspects that a backpack in their possession contained a large bag of marijuana. A further search of the subject's vehicle revealed another large bag of suspected marijuana. In addition to the marijuana, a large amount of cash was also discovered in the men's possession, police said. The three subjects were transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and warrants were secured for possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. Each individual is being held on a $10,000 bond, police said. Arrested were William Hemming, 21, of Binghamton, N.Y.; Nathan Petersen, 22, of Fairfax; and Michael Barry, 23, of Manassas.

These guys should have done their drug deal at Maud's house. A much less conspicuous location. And that glazed look on Maud's face--maybe she takes the occasional toke??

Let's also remember this one of many heroin and cocaine busts at the Wolftrap Motel.

Glad they got those druggie kids off the street, but I dont have anything good to say about MPO XXX (one of the officers who worked this case). I have much respect for the other three officers though.

The Wolftrap hotel is a pretty seedy place. Does anyone know if that place is ever booked full? My grandparents (from SoCal) stayed there once and asked for a non-smoking room, but it was quite obvious that it had been smoked in LOL. Not funny to them, but I thought it was kind of par for the course since they chose to stay there. Whatever.

Same ol same ol! There are the everlasting people who just want things to stay the same and all those who want change are banned and considered evil. Do these people understand that the only thing that is constant is change, and the desire to hold on to the past and keep things "the same" is not realistic. Stop living your high school/college glory days look in the mirror, look at your children and ask yourself "is this safe for my family and my community?"

Well there you go parents! Or are you the ones still smoking?

How many times has this place been busted? Why is it still there? Small towns are run by small minds aren't they?

People's personal opinions of cops in Vienna is not the issue here. I'd rather not start a police bashing segment.
What is relevant is that Maud created the Flea Trap (she and Charlie wanted a "local" motel). When the time came about 15 years ago to work with the owners, nothing was done and we now have an hourly motel which drug dealers use as their office. We finally have a big bucks builder who is going to drop 50M on a project at the location. The Town of Vienna community must support these efforts. Hopefully, we will get something that adds to our community - even if may end up being over 5 stories tall. Not perfect is better than criminal.

Is the town still planning on getting rid of Tequila Grande? My friend worked there (she worked there before college, now works there when home) and when I told her about Tequila supposedly getting torn down (that was my understanding) she called her boss and her boss said that they aren't closing.
Does anyone know any more about that?
What exactly is being built in place of the Wolfcrap motel?

You will never read about the Town Council discussions on the issue. BECAUSE, THE TOWN WON’T RELEASE THE COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES TO THE PUBLIC. What is it that they don’t want us to know? Check the Town’s web site; no TC minutes have been posted since October.

The Town of Vienna has nothing to do with Tequila Grande. It was purchased by a developer - along with the Flea Trap.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Wait... I am an employee at the Wolf Trap and I was there from 7 am- 11 pm that day. I NEVER saw any kind of police activity on the 8th that is for sure. I called the police on a loud couple two days after that, but they were never arrested. Where does this info come from. If there were police there I would have known... THAT IS FOR SURE. Btw- We do not have hourly rates and we never have. Thanks

\"flea trap\":
It was 6 hours and 40 minutes before you showed up for work. No surprise you didn\'t see anything.
