One Step Closer to the Nut Farm
From the Sun Gazette:
[The Town of Vienna] Narrowly approved the purchase of $1,500 worth of “Town of Vienna, Va.” decals that residents may display in the side or rear windows of their vehicles. Town officials still are working out the best way to distribute the 15,000 green-and-white decals, which are designed to promote town pride. Council member Michael Polychrones questioned why, during a tough budget year and the recent elimination of Vienna's auto-tax stickers, the council would spend taxpayer money for more decals. The motion passed by the closest of margins, a 4-3 vote. Council members Polychrones, Kelleher and Daniel Dellinger voted nay, while Mayor M. Jane Seeman and Council members Cole, George Lovelace and Maud Robinson voted in favor. “Civic pride overrules good judgment,” [Maud] Robinson said.

Maud and Jane could dress up in their police uniforms and distribute the decals at Viva Vienna.

“Civic pride overrules good judgment,” [Maud] Robinson said.
She really SAID that? Anyone catch it on YouTube??

This from the same people who won't do jack about the zoning issues and over crowding in Vienna Park Apartments, and the flop houses stuffed with illegal aliens in South Vienna?!

Good to see that *maybe* three people in Town have brains. How much will distribution cost, too? What a dumb idea. Even at my school, they *sell* magnets if you want to show school pride. On top of that, who puts stickers on their cars anymore?! It's all about magnets.

So, are they going to send these decals to each resident to see if they will be put in cars? Since the majority are sure to choose not to put stickers on their vehicles, that will mean even more of a waste of money. If these folks used their noggins, they'd think of purchasing decals in bulk and offer to sell them to residents as a "pride" fund-raising measure--that way none get wasted needlessly. But please--can we address the multitude of Illegals issues that permeate the town landscape?!

Civic Pride for what? Has anyone driven down Maple Ave? Bending electric poles, crumbling sidewalks...and businesses leaving! Where Hollywood Video was is vacant, as well as the rug store on the other side (near our lovely mattress stores). Also the huge furniture store down toward Tysons as well as the Fabric/Thats Amore stores are vacant. Who can afford that rent??
Civic Pride for the Town Green? I see they are dedicating trees and park benches there now. But no bike rack for the biker who was killed there. Yea Civic Pride for a puppet Town!

This is the tip of the "waste, fraud, and abuse" that dictates the spending of our tax money. What were they thinking? Do they know what's happened to the economy?

Why do you single him out as unhinged? The whole lot of them don't have a firm grip of their own misty eyed view of reality... look at seeman, she looks like a dear in the headlights when you talk to her, she doesn't even look at you when she talks to you, her eyes move back and forth all over the place... Maud's just stare 2 inched above your head, Lovelace always looks to the floor, Cole's eyes always have that blank mean superior piercing stare of a shark ready to bight your head off, Kelleher looks at you and away like a tennis game, Polycrones is the only one who looks at you when he's talking, but for someone who will never be a Town Leader, this assumed reality grip is lost in a sea of corruption. Lastly Dellinger's eyes look an inch or so just off course, steady, but through you, not at you, like he's not sure why he's there yet? Is he Maud's newest puppet: just another pretty face, ready to keep a seat warm, and keep his mouth shut?
Reality, nope.
