Only in Vienna

From the Sun Gazette:

Vienna Mayor M. Jane Seeman has proclaimed Tuesday, April 8 as “Volunteer Recognition Day” in the town, to celebrate and promote volunteerism in the community. A special meeting of the Mayor's Advisory Committee will be held on April 8 at 8 p.m., to recognize individuals and organizations that were nominated as outstanding volunteers to attend. Those who will be honored include Terry Bachmann, Walter Basnight...

Cheers!

You can't write stuff this stupid in real life, do any of them realize how so damned stupid and backward this town is?

Advice, you want to see the inner workings of the Town of Vienna? Go rent the movie, "Funny Farm" and watch it. The Vienna Town Council are exactly like the Council in that movie... actually the movie council are actually better behaved than Maud, Seeman, Cole, Kelleher, Polycrones, Lovelace, and that other new puppet, what's his name... what a bunch of useless protoplasm; the whole lot of them, as we would later recall: piss-poor-protoplasm, that's what they are.

This town takes the cake.

will drinks be served or is it BYOB?

Laughed so hard, my teeth fell out.

If I were any of these people, I would think that Basnights recognition is making the whole award ceremony a laughing stock:

Terry Bachmann, Pat Burke, Ed Chase, Mike Cheselka, Kathy Cutri, Dawn Dailey, Rebecca Diamond, William Fiore, Barbara Mackie Franklin, Chuck Gray, Donna Gray, Lisa Greenwood, David Guillaudeu, Monica Haley, Irene Light, Suzanne Maloney and the Vienna Theatre Company, Robert McCahill, Mark Meana, Corey Merdler, Robert Meyers, Shani Moser, Shelley Newhouse, Ken Quincy, Margaret Reinhardt, Jerry Shelton, Carey Sienicki, Kathy Splitt and Ed Wagaman.

Oh, well, Basnight IS after all a Citizen Member of the Chamber of Commerce, that should count for something, huh?

Citizen Member...Is that a title for those who can't cut the mustard?

PS. for all you people in Loma Linda and Vienna who don't get out much:

I'll assume that the meeting isn't open to the public, but if it were, I'd love to walk up to Beefcake Basnight and say, "Sorry, I didn't recognize you without a drink in your hand. Can I take your picture? No worries; I boxed in college".
