They ought to be embarrassed/dismayed/disappointed that no one cares about the election. I like to think that HV.com has added greatly to general voter apathy.
People read this blog on a daily basis and know that Vienna politics are a joke.

Is this the sequel to Dumb and Dumber? They all stand there like they have achieved something... Don't they realize that they are the laughing stock of Vienna? It's easy to win when you have corrupted a voting system.

the problem (one of the problems?) is that they're NOT the laughing stock of Vienna. That implies that people care. I have to conclude that people just don't really care about politics that are this local, until it impacts their ability to add on to their house. That's when I started caring - when the town hall idiots gave me a hard time about my construction plans. Maybe we shouldn't be a town, as an earlier blog post said.
Actually, you know what would make ME care more? If officials ran as part of a party - if it was a democratic/republican race. Maybe that's just me, but I think a lot of people in the DC are probably think this way also.

Does Historic Vienna intend to cover the proposed tax hike? Did the Council propose it before or after the deadline for declaring candidacy?

HV,
New to the site--live close to one of the morons. Have to say a 12% turn-out on election day is pretty sad. Is there a Barak or Hillary type newbie out there to generate the 40 something crowd to make a change? Last year two ladies ran and lost, why did they not run again? Not a fan of a TC member married to a local builder though. Until we get good voter turn out or an exciting/qualified candidate to run....
