Official: House in Historic District for Sale Under the Big Lie
A house for sale in the Vienna historic district is currently being promoted with the detail that Thomas Jefferson planted trees in the front yard. The house? It was built in the 1970s. The tree story? 100% fabrication. For those people who like it a little more blunt: the people saying this are lying.

"Maud, please let me stop, everyone knows we are lying!"

Not saying how I know or who made this up but the person who may have started this rumor just laughs and laughs that a bunch of real estate agents have bought it hook, line & sinker.

Anyone actually get a pdf of the listing that shows what it says? I would like to think that if I see it in print, it's true.

As I recall this house was up for sale before with the same TJ tree bs. Did the house not sell before?

The MLS number is FX6762456. The address is 102 Windover. Here is the description:
"HISTORIC VIENNA enjoy this rare opportunity to live in WINDOVER HEIGHTS. WRAP PORCH, BEAUTIFUL OAK TREES -supposedly planted by Thomas Jefferson; BRICK PATIO & CHARMING WALKWAY; INSIDE OF HOME RENOVATED TO A CLASSIC STICKLEY/POTTERY BARN FINISH WITH ADDED MODLINGS, UPDATED KITCHEN W/ GRANITE, FRESH PAINT & MORE. A TRUE CHARM WITH THE BENIFIT OF BEING ABLE TO WALK TO VIENNA"
The agent could use some help with spelling in addition to historicity.

This is exactly how the historic district lies start. Someone writes it down or tells a story to enough people and then the lies becomes fact. Just like all the lies Carey Sienicki and Charles Anderson perpetuate about the houses along Walnut Lane. Don't forget Walk on the Hill Pamphlet, written by one of Maud's friends who is not even an historian, he's some sort of weatherman. She has helped perpetuate these lies, too. Do these people think that this is the way history is made and kept alive? Don't they know anything about research and accountability? Historic documentation? ...by someone who isn't just writing a pamphlet or putting together a storybook? Do they understand why it is important to have some historic inventory? Or do they even know and understand what an inventory is and why it is necessary?
I don't think these people do. Maud Robinson, Laurie Cole, Jane Seeman, George Loevleace, Carey Sienicki, Charles Anderson, Shirley Damon, Joan Lillis, Laine Hyde, Thethe Freeman Store voliunteers, etc, all want to be able to play make believe with our tax dollars, and there is nothing to do to have them accountable to any facts or anyone. It's all made up, just like the new signs, HISTORIC CHURCH STREET: what is historic about Church Street? Nothing, the town put up these signs, and they hope the un-enlightened will believe them. You might as well put up a sign when you enter Vienna, stating Welcome to Historic Vienna because it is no different to what they have done with Church street and the Windover Heights district.
Their recent decision to keep a new home from being built on Walnut Lane is the nail in the coffin to prove their arbitrary and capricious decisions made in this town, but, legally, it is more nefarious than capricious. When Maud Robinson gets on the stand, she will learn how much of an evil hand she had in all this, and she will have to tell Vienna her real motives that she has lead this fight for so long, and folks, it won't be a pretty site to witness.

READ CAREFULLY, THE LISTING STATES:
SUPPOSEDLY... PLANTED BY TJ... THIS IS HOW THEY GET AWAY WITH THE LIES, BUT THEY KNOW AND UNDERSTAND, THAT IF THEY PERPETUATE THIS LIE IN THIS WAY, LONG ENOUGH, PEOPLE WILL BEGIN TO BELIEVE IT, NO MATTER HOW PREPOSTEROUS THE LIES.
THE TOWN WORKS HARD NOT TO ALLOW FOR TRUTH AND HONESTY TO GUIDE THEIR DECISIONS AND THIS HAS HURT ORDINARY CITIZENS WHO HAVE LIVED HERE FOR YEARS, AND HAVE SUPPORTED THE TOWN AND ITS GROWTH FOR MANY DECADES.

I am confused. The town is arguing:
The act of including or not including the property in the historic District is not a zoning or rezoning action and therefore, cannot be spot zoning. The age of the structure has no bearing on whether or not it should be included in the district. Your attention is invited to Section 18-280.2 of the Town's zoning ordinance concerning the boundaries of the Windover Heights Historic district. You will note that it is a historic district created by boundary and makes no reference to the age or character of the structures within the boundary. I have always maintained that if Abraham Lincoln had been assassinated at the local Giant, that structure would be historic. One the other hand, the mayor's antique chicken house is very old, but in my mind has no historic value."
These are the very words of the Town's Attorney, the then Town Attorney John Gionfriddo who took an honest stance toward whether or not a change in the boundary of the historic district was a rezoning.
So, with this in mind, there is no legal way they can stop any house within the district from being torn down and new houses from being rebuilt. And we already know this as many new homes have been built where already existing older homes once stood. So why deny the most recent homeowners their desire to build a more energy efficient home and a home that is disability smart to meet their needs in the future and present?
In a word: Maud Robinson and her near "Demonical Possession" she has over the whole affair. She just does not like the people involved, and she wants to draw her line in the sand and to hell with what a true leader or politician should do and act under these circumstances. She's out of control.
Maybe we can get this on TV and the nightly news. Keep your fingers crossed.
Stay tuned. Same Channel...
PS. As you know, Maud doesn't know how to use the internet, so would someone please print this out and give it to her, and oh, yes, giver her a big hug, she needs one.
