Church Street on LSD

Has anyone seen the traffic calming measures now in place on Church Street between East Street and Beulah Road? Can someone take some pictures? It is quite possibly the craziest thing ever done in this Town. It looks like a curvy racetrack for Formula One racing. It is off the wall in terms of function and appearance.

When I saw this headline, I thought you were going to write about all the drug arrests that have been happening in the past year in the Church St./ Mill St./ Dominion Rd. area.

But hey, wasting tax dollars on to mess up our roads is an interesting topic, too.

I believe it was in the minutes that I read about the scheme you describe. I dismised it as unimportant. However, since you saw fit to call attention to it I decided to visit the location. I proceeded down Ayr Hill to East Steet. At the intersection of East Street and Church Street I turned right on Church Steet and was confused by some markings in the middle of the block. I proceeded to go straight on Church but not before becoming confused about which lane I should be in. I entered the right lane designated for going straight on Church or right on Beulah. Surprise, the car in the left turn lane, which lines up with Church Stret, proceed to go straight ahead forcing me to stop in the middle of Beulah Road. Well I found out that it is not unimportant. Consider a bicyclist proceeding down Church Street close to the curb when an auto proceeding at the same time reads the road and makes the required quick right around the safety island. Didn't we loose a Giant employee in a similar accident?
