Comments
This individual was brandishing a deadly weapon and confronting a group of men. And all the VPD do is arrest him for drunk in public? How long was he detained? Has he been released back into our community? What’s the likelihood that he remains a dangerous threat to the public?

Brandishing of a bladed weapon requires the blade to be 12 inches long. This is a problem with the VA.code not with the VPD or council. We need to look to our state delegates for a change in this code.

"The Town has met with the Center's management previously with satisfactory outcomes" M. Jane Seeman
If the Mayor was in charge of FEMA, George Bush would be saying... you're doin a heck-of-a-job Janie... but, we all know you can do "better"

"An intoxicated individual was observed approaching a group of men wielding a knife. Vienna Police intervened and the man was arrested and charged with being Drunk in Public."
So what this says to me is that the Vienna Police are forced to provide tax payer funded security for this shopping center. Is this Jane's satisfactory outcome?

Seems doubtful that the shopping center would be paying for security at 2:21 AM in any case as nothing in there's open at that hour.

How much does the town spend dealing with the crime at the Cedar Park Shopping Center?
See, here's the thing: the shopping center management company does NOTHING to manage the crowds of criminals that hang out there day and night. So, the town has resorted to a 24/hour a day police presence there -- both undercover and out in the open.
At what point do tax payers say "no more" and force the shopping center to foot the bill for it's own security?

Better fighting real crime than setting speed traps is what I say.
People on this site love to complain about crime at the shopping center... and now when the police are patrolling there, they're going to complain that they're policing the place. As if the crime wasn't happening at the shopping center, we wouldn't be paying for the same number of cops to do something else?
And I believe I have seen "rent a cops" patrolling the place during the day...

Stop! You're killing me! This is better than Seinfeld!

Yes, Marie Kisner, this certainly is funny. So glad you are having a laugh at the expense of Vienna town citizens.

Patrick St. Resident; Yet ANOTHER reason why you guys are so funny. You think there is ONLY ONE MARIE in Vienna. Worse, but MORE telling, is that you actually believe Marie Kisner is writing to you. You're kidding, right? I'm not wasting any more of my time on this silliness. Continue your irrational tirades on your own.
