Vienna Sued Over Fireworks
Vienna now will pay the piper. And to boot a nationally recognized attorney Joseph Cammarata is leading the case. Don't worry, we all know with the brain trust of Maud and Jane Vienna will be fine. Not.
Wait till everyone learns how sloppy Vienna is run. But it is our guess that the old geezers who keep these boobs in office are so decayed in the brain that they will never know or care how much Vienna has to shell out for its negligence.

“Conley Ku suffered injuries that include second-degree burns to his left leg and a perforation to his right ear drum that left him with hearing loss, according to the suit, which seeks $16 million.” Vienna Pop. = 15,000. That’s $1,067 to each taxpayer.

Just so I am straight - eleven people were injured and this lawsuit represents only two victims? There could possibly be nine more $16M lawsuits?!
Do not fear, good citizens of Vienna, Mayor Boob and Mad Maud will use every last penny at their disposal (re: higher taxes) to fight to the death than admit blame. But, I guess the laser show pretty much already admits as much, eh?

Is this why they have to raise our taxes?

If his legals skills (among many attorneys involved) were good enough to help cause a President severe legal issues, expect VTC to not sleep well.

Maybe the ToV will bring in the not-very-renowned legal skills of the Town Manager's son, Adam, for defense advice. You know this is going to be WAY over Briglia's head. At the least, we should be able to see some coverage in the Post, unlike most everything else that goes on in this town. I'm actually looking forward to it. Bite me, Jane!

Why are you guys always being so disrespectful to our Mayor, Jane Seeman? She is trying the to the best job she can, isn't she?
She may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but she was elected amongst many other people running, wasn't she? She deserves to have the respect of all Vienna citizens, because she is our Mayor.
You all act as if she is detrimental to Vienna, and that she is leading Vienna down the wrong course. Don't you realize she has no power to do this; she actually got the same voting power of all the other council members, she volunteered many hours for the republican party, and wasn't she a school teacher before she became mayor? So why all the SNL like comments towards her on this site? It's so sad that she isn't able to bask in the respect and glory that a small town mayor deserves especially because she got so many votes in the last election, in fact, I think she got almost 99% of the vote this last election, beating our every other challenger! The people have voted! So we should give her the respect she deserves!
Hasn't she single handedly tackled AND solved our towns traffic problems by her tactful and cooperative discussions with VDOT? Well, you have me there, she remained somewhat silent here, and Vienna is way worse off now, than it ever was, especially as Tysons Corner expects to grow by perhaps a 1000x larger over the next decade, and Vienna will essentially become a suburb of Tysons Corner.
Okay, hasn't she spent hours walking around town trying to get more sidewalks put in so our children can safely walk to school? No? She hasn't even raised a finger, I hear you say? Oops, sorry, our town actually has the least amount of sidewalks when compared to old town Clifton, old town Alexandria, Old town Fairfax city, historic Manassas, Historic Leesburg, the list goes on. Our children cannot even walk the 2-3 blocks from their homes nearest the schools, because Jane Seeman actually supports and promotes cut-through traffic through our neighborhoods, and if you review her voting record over the past several years, she has voted against every resolution to stop and restrict cut through traffic through our back streets, actually exclaiming, "I've got cut-through traffic on my street, so you may as well deserve yours on your street!" Can you believe that? That from a mayor? That's the comments and mentality of a revengeful moron, not even close to being a leader.
Okay, hasn't she fought for lower taxes? You say, her voting record reveals she has voted for every tax hike over the past 7 years, caring little or nothing about the escalating costs our families have to deal with, and oops, I forgot, she was also in lock step with Maud Robinson, Laurie Cole, & George Lovelace, when they all took a significant portion of the business district out of the hands of commercial taxpayers to be included on their private country club, and Seeman supported this by actually raising the taxes of very Vienna Citizen! That's real leadership... NOT!
Well, hasn't she fought hard to lower our water costs? No? I hear you say, she has sat back and done nothing except exclaim, like chicken little, that if Vienna wants lower water costs, they will have to get Fairfax County Water authority to belly up to over, was is 80 million dollars of improvements that the town really needs, saving the town of Vienna all this money, but she actually is against saving Vienna money, simply because, as she states, "Vienna will lose the ability to control what happens to its water..." what control? That's like saying, you lose control over your water after you have spilled a cup of water down the bathroom sink... and it was you who spilled it there. I mean, who the hell cares who fixes the many water mains that have broken over the past decades, costing Vienna many millions of dollars and traffic jams, and lost revenue, simply because Seeman doesn't want to relinquish control of the water in Vienna. The real reason is that she doesn't want to lower the water costs in Vienna by about 1/4th the price we are paying is that if they did this, they would have to admit the town is incapable of fixing it itself. Never mind that this is the truth, she has drawn her line in the sand, and she's too stubborn and lacks the real leadership and wisdom in actually doing something that would actually help Vienna and lower water costs at the same time. That's not leadership, that's being a moron, when this town can not afford this subborn attitude.
Okay, she HAS fought hard to bring the type of new shops and businesses to start new and more varied places to shop in Vienna, hasn't she? No again... Vienna has for her size and density, the highest concentration of gas stations, banking institutions, and nail salons than any other town or city, and I think that includes NEW YORK CITY!(I believe) She has voted against every vote that has come before her that would have lowered the burden of both our businesses that are Vienna owned and operated, and all the other companies that have come before her to seek any relief or compromise that would allow them to improve their businesses and upgrade their storefronts, and she has voted against everything that would have allowed these businesses to improve and remodel their properties, because she like Maud Robinson, would rather see endless miles of asphalt filled parking lots and strip malls. That's real leadership at its best, isn't it?"
Okay, well hasn't she fought hard for the welfare of our senior citizens and all their needs and considerations? After all she is one herself? Hasn't been the figher for the underdog for the handicapped and elderly? Nope, I hear you say? "In fact, she was heard making fun of one of challenging candidates fathers who ran in the last election when there actually were challengers, she was pointing out to people passing by, that he was handicapped, and laughing about it. Why did she do this? I don't know.
She actually told a long time senior citizen who came before the council to appeal a perfectly acceptable relief to improve this one elderly citizens property so that he wouldn't fall over and seriously hurt himself, that he was just wasting her time, and she continued to belittle this poor man, and she yelled at him for even being there! Why, Jane? Why? What had he done to you? I know the answer, she doesn't want you to know this, but when someone presents themselves before the council that she doesn't like, this is the behavior they get in return. Better believe these abusive and corrupt politicians never want allow their meetings to be televised.
Okay, hasn't she done anything that deserves the respect for the office she holds? Anything anyone? Hasn't she fought hard to bring this town together and get along better with all its needs and demands that we all face? Well, actually, notwithstanding the decision to make people leave Vienna this 4th of July to see fireworks outside the town, because of her lack of any true leadership that could have easily solved this problem, she has chosen to sit back and actually was overheard by people who live on her street that she enjoys getting special treatment and free stuff and near-monetary if not monetary favors with things like having contractors who do business in this town who come before their boards and committees who need decisions made that involve millions of dollars... she was overheard bragging that she didn't have to pay for her new built in bookcases that were put in by one of these major contractors, and until he resigned, he was actually appointed to one of the boards that influenced construction decisions in this town. That's not leadership, that's wrong.
I think is these things really have not happened in this fine town we know and call Vienna, I would have thought I was reading a SNL script. So she deserves the same SNL respect, I think.
So let's all rejoice in all the idiotic, wasteful, expensive, shortsighted, and perhaps even vengeful and mean, actions of our fine Mayor Jane Seeman, that we all know is just a puppet of Maud Robinson anyway, on account that he hasn't met with the wizard of oz yet for any real leadership, she has made her legacy and her legacy is not deserving of anything that even remotely comes close to leadership.
Now, you know the rest of the story, and often heard on the radio by Paul Harvey, and this writer would have loved to write a different outcome for an office that should deserve respect, but we know, we will never see the truth, because she has fought hard to keep her meetings from being televised, so Vienna will never have to see her as she really is. Pitiful and sad, and, yes, we deserve better.
PS. Ooops, she won almost 99% of the vote when she ran, because she runs UNNOPPOSED on account of the deep seeded corruption in our voting procedures. Ever wonder why we don't vote in November like everyone else? To keep the voter outcome artificially low. They have learned how to keep their tower of corruption in check, and until we have televised meetings, people will not give a dam enough to want to see new people with integrity and honor to run and be elected into office. Until then, we laugh and cry at the level of corruption we have agreed to settle on.
