Spring Elections in Vienna.

Since someone asked, elections are in May 2009. HistoricVienna.com would love to vote for someone other than an incumbent. We are actually rather perplexed here at the HV headquarters - Obama signs are ALL over town. Citizens seem to want and embrace change on the national level but here in Vienna, they are committed to putting the same tired and worn out politicians into office EVERY SINGLE YEAR.

Do not sit back and wait. Be the person who runs for office. Stick your neck out. Change will be better. DEMAND SOMETHING ELSE. DEMAND SOMETHING BETTER.

Who won last year?

Vienna Town Council Results
Edythe Frankel Kelleher * 666 35%
Laurie Genevro Cole * 636 33%
Michael J. Polychrones * 607 32%

Key: * Incumbent
Precincts: 100%

You ran off the guy who wanted to run. Remember the guy from Locust Street? He \"stuck his neck out\" and you dropped the guillotine on it.

Yeah we ran him off -- because he was not only crazy, he was stupid as well.

And if a future politician can't take some basic heat, then why bother thinking he might be better than the ding dongs we have? Guy was a weenie who ran away when someone said boo.

plus he had a single issue, which could be boiled down to "get off my lawn." We need serious candidates with real understanding of the issues.

I'm new to Vienna and would love to get involved in the town community, but I don't know where to begin. Any suggestions?
