Hilarious.

We are unaware of criminals putting up their own crime scene tape.

Vienna ‘C.S.I.’-Themed Party Draws Actual Police Officer Sun Gazette, August 12, 2009

Master Police Officer (MPO) Jarod Evans of the Vienna Police Department on Aug. 2 responded to a call in the 500 block of Mashie Drive, S.E., from a resident who became terrified after arriving home and finding “Crime Scene” tape all about her house.

The woman left the area and called police to report the suspicious finding. She then asked for an officer to enter her home with her to investigate.

As she and Evans entered to assess and search for some type of criminal, they were greeted with a rousing “Happy Birthday!” The crime-scene tape was part of a surprise birthday party with a theme based on the hit television show “Crime Scene Investigation.”

“The officer handled it as he would have handled any case and approached with caution,” said MPO William Murray, a police spokesman. “Upon entry, he was able to figure out what occurred immediately.”

I am just guessing here, but isn't it illegal for anyone but the police to put up crime scene tape??

I saw Maud today standing on the sidewalk surveying her crumbling domain.

The only reason I recognized her is from the photos you've posted here.

I feel as though I should have shouted something at her...

Was it crime scene tape or simply the yellow caution tape you can buy at Home Depot? Looks like both can be bought all over the internet.

Vienna sucks under the reign of Maude Robinson. Where else in America but Vienna can a fight between two squirrels over an acorn on someone's front lawn result in a major league response by a town's police department?

Latest award to Vienna's Queen Maudie came from the Vienna PD. Check out General Electric Media Mergers and Acquisitions most recent acquisition aka Sun Gazette.

The Maud award is appropriately posted under the heading: HILARIOUS.

Posted in the SG is another story about Maud presenting an award to a Vienna policeman. Note that the police award to Maud was a dated story dug up to accompany the Maud presentation to the police. "You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours".
